My partner and I ate here a few days ago whilst Christmas shopping in Truro. Where else can you find such quality food for such an outstanding price in Truro? At two courses for £13! I had the Basil and Tomato mussels to start- which were really well cooked, succulent and juicy, while my partner had the calamari which he... More

Decided to go into Saffron for lunch as the menu sounded appetising and varied. I had hake with sticky rice and Thai green vegetable curry. The two others in my party had chicken and mushroom suet pastry pie. We all enjoyed our meals which were well presented and very tasty. We had sticky toffee pudding and the cheese board to... More

When in Truro, we always head for Saffron knowing that we will have an excellent choice of food and also knowing it will be value for money. Today's pork & chorizo burger (my wife) and my hake with sticky rice and Thai green curry was really tasty. So thank you Saffron - see you again.

Nice ambience and decor. Interesting menu and good prompt service for a pre- theatre meal. Lots of fish choices and some unusual meat choices. I had halloumi to start which was combined with chestnut and fig and was an unusual but enjoyable combination. My husband had squid which was well cooked. I had chicken suet pudding with root veg. Which... More

Our first visit to this restaurant and we will certainly go again. The staff were all welcoming and attentive, the menu was good and our food was delicious and plentiful! We chose to eat off the lunch menu and this was excellent value.

I have been to Saffron three times in the lat three weeks. Generally, it's pretty much up there with the restaurants of its type around the world. The food is interesting, the menu well-considered, it tastes good and it's always possible to pair it with a good wine. Service is excellent; attentive without hovering. Next time I am in the... Thank goodness I hadn't read some of the recent reviews before visiting this restaurant. I probably wouldn't have gone and would have missed out on a very enjoyable and pleasant evening. Perhaps this evening we had a different chef and waiting staff?? But totally unrecognisable from the description I've just seen. The scallops were delicious and my husbands pate was... More

noun: hospitality 1. the friendly and generous reception and entertainment of guests, visitors, or strangers. This is the industry that Saffron in Truro claims to be in. It’s a bar and restaurant, it sells food it employs waiters and chefs to enable the above. So how come last night after attending the Festival of Light we were thrown into total... More

Dear Reviewer, The City of lights parade is a family orientated event that starts very late in the afternoon and finishes early evening. The majority of people in town are with children and tend to leave when the parade finishes, hence Truro empties of people quite rapidly after the parade. Your group was our last booking after a total of... More

Booked a table with 6 friends for after the Truro Lantern Festival. When we arrived at 8.15 we were the only customers, and no-one arrived after us. Should have been a warning! We didn't have to wait long after we had ordered, and the starters seemed OK, although nothing was piping hot, not even the soup. The plates / dishes... More
