A party of 6 of us ate here a few Saturdays ago. Every one of us loved the food and the quality of service. The portions were more than plentiful and all came out well presented and quickly. The staff were polite and courteous and very helpful. I will definitely be reccommending this place to friends and family

We went to the Old George on our last evening in Rathfriland and were very pleased with great food. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Would highly recommend it. We found it a very clean and tidy place. It was better than one of the local chippies where we went earlier in our visit. So please visit and make up... More

I found this restaurant by accident and my son and I are so pleased we did! They had all day lunch specials at £6.95 and the huge turkey and ham dinner was bigger and better than my Christmas dinner! My son and I loved it. The food was brought in quickly and the waitress was lovely. Excellent - can't wait... More

Made a planned stop in Rathfriland to meet up with someone and chose The Old George for our lunch after walking around the town. We wanted a quaint pub and this fit the bill. The people in the pub were very friendly. We hadn't been able to find the person I town we were looking for so we mentioned his... More

Toast and jam would get a better review. Just don't bother go to the many chippers instead. Dingy, dirty, dreary, dreadful.

The food here is second to none. I eat out frequently and although this place is in need of a refurbishment the food is absolutely gorgeous. Modern dishes and some old favourites such as Chicken Maryland to steak sandwiches and delicious fish dishes are all available and I have never had a bad meal here yet. Everything is very well... The staff welcomed our large party with a smile. All the orders came out correctly and in good time. I had the "Stack of Chicken" and it was a stack! Lovely pepper sauce and champ with fantastic tobacco onions. The food was hot, tasty and plentiful. The staff were attentive but not over fussy, giving us enough time and space... More

What a pleasant surprise to "just run across" such a gem. It is half a block off the city square and I found it just "by accident" while driving around downtown looking for any place to eat. It was so good, that I drove 10 miles out of my way to eat there again two days later! I ate on... More
