My mum and I visited the store for something to eat on 15/3/17. We were approached by Michael when he asked if he could help us carry our tray as my mum has recently broken her ankle and is using crutches and I was pushing my newborn son in his pram. He was so helpful and friendly and couldn't have... More

I went here today and firstly it is clean and well run. I had to smile as the staff on the counter were very fresh faced but what a joy as they were lovely and had excellent manners and were a credit to Marks and Spencers. I really was impressed. The food was nice and well served ...I had a... More

I've been a fan of M&S and a loyal customer for forty years, but I am angered to see what I think is an indefensible price hike. The Eccles cakes and apple turnovers have gone up in price from £1.50 each to £1.75. The factory made sandwiches are thinly filled. A small bacon roll in the cafe that would sit... More

We had their afternoon tea for two today, not the best in the area, but good value, especially when using a voucher. We arrived about 3, and hoped that there might be some decent sandwiches. We were offered a good choice, but 4 small quarter sandwiches were hardly generous for 2 people. Fillings were very tasty, as we had a... More

Three generations of our family had afternoon tea in Marks and Spencer in the Arnison Centre, Durham. The sandwiches were lovely, very dainty, a good selection of cakes and two pots of tea and a soft drink for my grandaughter. The service was good and quick. Very enjoyable.

My friend and I had afternoon tea here last week - it was lovely. The sandwiches were dainty consisting of salmon, egg cheese and ham. The scone was delicious with jam and clotted cream - then we had a selection of tiny cakes. This was complimented by a pot of tea.

The coffee is always good, sandwiches are however, not so good. The variety is the same this good few years, no real change. I got the UK sandwich selection and was not happy with it, pretty bland selection, esp. the egg and cress, no seasoning. Desserts and cakes are better and fruit tubs are really lovely. Staff are always so... More

A nice clean and reasonably priced cafe, a limited selection of hot foods available decor is a very plain and uninspiring but the food they sell is of the highest quality. A nice spot for a quick coffee and a sandwich but not much atmosphere.
