It's an Irish family restaurant: the food is hot and plentiful (my, is it plentiful!) and very tasty. Not a hair was turned at my shouty, happy two year old grandson and the staff is incredibly friendly and welcoming. Don't go there expecting caviar and red snapper - but if you want good, honest food at a reasonable price, it's... More

A recent visit to the tilley lamp with some overseas visitors gave a taste of ireland on a plate. excellent menu service quailty & quantity of food. our guests were mega impressed and left the resturant with very high expectations of what was to come on the remainder of thier visit. i would also commend the tilley on a very... We visited here as a large family group. We all chose different meals from the very extensive menu and everyone was extremely satisfied with their meal. This is not fine dining but the food is excellent & wholesome and portion size is huge. My tip is to avoid starters if you want to finish your main course.

Went here with the woman. We shared the cheeses garlic bread and bacon starter. I had a lasagne for my main course whilst the woman had a steak wrap. First off, portion size. If you enter here hungry you'll certainly not leave here hungry. I.e. They're huge. My kinda portion sizes! I couldn't finish my meal and that's quite something... More

What a diappointment this was. Spring rolls are mush wrapped in bread and deep fried. Prawn cocktail was a plate of sauce with prawns( badly defrosted) hiding in it.Vegetable soup was bland. Even the wine and water were warm. Quaint setting but the food is dreadful. Service pleasant but need a bit of training. I do not want salad with... More

A very cute place in the countryside of Northern Ireland. Definitely worth a stop in. I had the peppercorn chicken which was lovely but really a lot of food. I also ordered the lyonnaise potatoes and broccoli which were all good but really a massive portion. However I felt a bit rushed in deciding as it wasn't totally clear to... More

The old Tilley lamp is a beautiful quaint establishment! The food is excellent value for money! Huge portions and extremely reasonable prices. It is slightly off the beating track but well worth the journey for a wonderful meal! I have eaten hear many times and will return time and time again!

After having this a a recommendation we went as a family. Overall, it did not meet our expectations. We had to ask twice for our wine order, although the staff were always helpful and friendly. Our summary of the food would be 'quantity over quality'.......the chicken was covered in rich cheese, the chips were average, the steak lacked flavour, chicken... More

Truthfully, my food was below par. I'd read some great reviews and the portions were large as suggested. However, the spring rolls were very well done and the filling was mush. I had the chilli beef stir fry for main course - it was fine... that's the best I can say about it. It lacked any sort of quick and... More

Went here with a work group....food was lovely though massive portions...as I prefer smaller portions this was a bit overwhelming but if you like good old fashioned homely food, this is the place for you. I would definitely return as the food was tasty...the staff also very friendly...would recommend...
