Friendly and helpful staff at the bar on arrival, sorted drinks and meal order quickly. Restaurant was quite busy (8:00) but atmosphere was relaxed. Service at the table was fine, all four of us chose different starters and mains and we had no complaints, which for us is unusual. Will go again, and happy to recommend.

I stopped by one lunchtime and was pleasantly surprised. I like to choose a couple of starters as a lunch treat so I get a taste of two dishes at a new venue. The Roebuck had a old favorite of mine, mushrooms in creamy garlic on a ciabatta...disappointing in size and flavor, I felt the bread overwhelmed the dish. However... More

A party of five of us visited the Roebuck for lunch after a recommendation. Outside the pub is painted brick in the modern style for old traditional pubs and inside is similarly stripped down and modern looking. A wood burning stove is alight provides a nice focal point. The range of dishes on the menu does not immediately shout “eat... More

Stopped on business, great atmosphere and friendly staff. Would have stopped last week but the lack of a breakfast put me off. Please bring back breakfasts.

We were a party of 20 holding a birthday celebration at the Roebuck and would highly recommend anyone to go there. The food we were served was excellent, despite everyone ordering different meals every meal arrived at the same time and were piping hot. All of our guests thoroughly enjoyed the meals and special thanks go to Adam, Sarah and... More

Wanted a special New Year's Day meal today with our two adult sons . Lovely starters , but found beef on Sunday lunch far too rare which was unpleasant . We asked for no gravy on one meal but the meat came with gravy already on it . My son was put off as the combination of unwanted gravy and... More

We visited here as a party of 6 early Friday night and had a lovely experience. All our starters were tasty as well as our mains, the portion sizes for the price were excellent! Unfortunately they did forget one of the mains but they were extremely apologetic and handled the situation well. The lasagne was a little disappointing in terms... More

Walking to the train station and looking for a bite to eat, we stumbled on the Roebuck! After a beer we decided on the Sunday roast and what a good choice it was. Beef was tender, vegetables were fresh and crisp and gravy so tasty. The service was excellent too! Didn't stay long as in a rush but will return... More
