Our penultimate stay during our 85 mile walk saw us visit The Barge Inn perfectly positioned alongside the canal on the outskirts of Bradford on Avon. We had a perfect evening meal, a very comfortable night in the contemporary styled double room and a really excellent breakfast the following morning. The staff and service was superb throughout our stay. Highly... More

I have been here three times now for a Sunday roast, and each time it has gotten worse. The first time was winter and the log fire was roaring. The food was incredible, really felt homemade, nicely presented, beautiful bit of beef and yorkshire pudding with cauliflower cheese and well seasoned crispy roast potatoes. Couldn't wait to come back. Second... More

Popped in while passing and thought we'd have a Sunday roast. The staff were pleasant and friendly and service was quick. We both had roast chicken, it was nice but could have had slightly more as I was still a bit hungry when we left. However, it was still lovely and will definitely be returning.

The outside seating area is very nice and it is very enjoyable on a sunny day. The staff is very polite and helpful. The only issue was that the food was not anythimg exceptional on the day we visited. We had Sunday lunch (I had pork roast). Maybe dinner is better or we did not make the bedr choice from... More

We ate here one Friday night and it was a good job that we booked or we wouldn't otherwise have got in. Everything was served in large portions and two starters between 4 of us were plenty. I had the fish pie with vegetables which was excellent although I couldn't finish it. one of the party had chips which we... More

Called in for the first time just for drinks. Initial impression of the bar area was that it appeared rather bland, minimalistic and lacking in character, although it was clean and the lady that served us was very friendly and pleasant. Being a nice day, we took our drinks outside and discovered the canal side seating on the upper level.... More

As a regular on the cut, we eat in a lot of pubs so having spotted this place we decided to try it out, that was our first mistake...... Upon entry we were greeted with the doors to the loos, should have realised what was to come was not going to get better, that was our second mistake. Having found... More

Called in here on the way home on a long journey. Good to find a place doing food all day, and not finishing at 3.00 pm, which is, oddly enough, a time when some people like to eat. Had a wonderful welcome by friendly staff at a pretty quiet time. Starter was devoured and the mains served in good time.... More

We popped in for lunch just before picking up our canal boat from the boat yard next door. We sat in the garden (which is big and had kids running about) in the sun. None of us were very hungry so we had 'light meals'...nachos, soup, salads etc All of our party of five were very happy with their choice... More
