We visited on Sunday as a group of 4 and it is always good to see an unspoilt quaint homely pub. Service was good and the food was tasty ,we all had beef roast dinner and thought considering the price the portion was a bit small and the gravy a little bland and watery. Sticky toffee pudding was to die... More

Thank you for taking the time to review us, we're glad you liked our unspoiled pub & that the service was up too your exacting standards. Its a shame you haven't managed to be totally honest with the rest of your review. You had 3 Roast dinners & deserts from our fixed price Sunday lunch menu priced at £15.95, to... More

We were staying at hassop hall and came here for lunch. The landlord is very pleasant to talk to. The waitress was very pleasant and efficient. The food was only average and £18 for venison pie was a high price for the quality of the meat which was a little tough. The chicken with Hartington Stilton was very bland, chips... More

Thank you for taking time to review us, Venison pie is £16.95 by the way. We produce 95% of our food ourselves and nowhere do we claim homemade chips yes they are frozen it's a small kitchen with just 2 chefs we can't do it all. Given how busy we were on you visit shows how well loved our food... More

A cut above your standard pub fare. Some local specialities and excellent Derbyshire produce. A little pricey, but far superior to other pubs in the area.

Friendly service and a lovely old traditional inn. Tasty, plentiful, unpretentious food. The aged steak was juicy and cooked to perfection.

We love going to the Eyre Arms for a evening meal, great staff always there with a smile. The food is well presented & always a good choice on the menu and special board. A good rotation of beers on a regular basis. Well worth a visit, Reasonable prices too.

We had a wonderful meal. We had lamb and fruit pie as dessert. I would say a fruit pie that I haven't had in years. ManyThanks to the cook. And also we had a very pleasant chat with the owner.

We stayed in a nearby cottage for a week and this was our 'local'. This is an old coaching inn that appears to be in the middle of nowhere apart from a few cottages and a nearby farm. It is fair to describe it as a traditional pub. The staff are excellent, we found them friendly and welcoming and the... More

We stopped on the way home for a quick lunch and we're pleasantly surprised with the warm welcome, lovely interior and great food. All the customers and owner were chatting to one another, it was a great vibe. We'll definitely be back:
