Thick sandwiches with small amount of filling, came with home cooked thick chips which appeared and tasted like the left overs of a previous fry accompaniment a limp salad. Ate in garden, friendly waitress that's more than could be said for the woman behind the bar who took our order, looked like she wasn't having a good day. A smile... More

First visit here, have to say, I left still feeling hungry. I had the chicken which was dry, the gravy was far far too rich, the spoonful of mash was carveable, certainly not soft & fluffy in any way shape or form and the bowl of vegetables, well if you think 3 pieces of broccoli, cauliflower and 8 or 9... Good value two course lunch, £10.95. Very good home cooking, good portions, tasty food. Would recommend the lunch time special menu. It does get busy so booking is advisable and it does stop serving food at 2pm. Well worth a visit.

We dined in the restaurant in the evening. It was steak night. The menu was varied but not very exciting, what you would expect for pub grub. I had Blue cheese pate to start which was OK and came with dry toast. I had a steak to follow which was cooked well but not very tasty. We passed on deserts... More

We've been regular diners here for about 10 years and always enjoyed our visits. Today, however, I was spoken to by the man behind the bar in the rudest manner I have ever experienced in any eating establishment (and I frequent many) Apparently I was sitting in the wrong place. I was impolitely informed it was only a "lean against"... More

Stopped here for lunch whilst passing through the area and really pleased we did. Lunch was very good as was the service. The hotel was warm, clean and welcoming. We chatted to three people who were leaving as we arrived and they recommended it wholeheartedly. They said they had eaten there three times that week! We would also wholly recommend... More

Excellent food and service and good value for money. Nice traditional coaching inn atmosphere - warm and Cosy. Very good menu choices - good hearty home cooked food.

Dined with family on Tuesday evening - we all had great meals, each choosing something different. Proper homemade crispy chips were to die for... veg cooked properly and real made in house puds were wonderful. Well done....
