My wife and I went to breakfast this morning and it was excellent. The service was good, the full English breakfast delicious and it was also reasonably priced. You also get the bonus of stunning Derbyshire countryside and the Monsal trail to walk or cycle along if you so please. Recommended.

This is a busy cafe and if you are wanting somewhere quiet and intimate, then it is not for you. It bustles with activity and we had a long queue before we were served and then another long wait for the food. The food, in our case, toasted sandwiches was, however, excellent. There is ample seating inside and out, while... More

Being new on a push bike we wanted somewhere to ride that was safe and pretty easy. The monsal trail is beautiful. Pretty much flat and is 4 miles each way, stunning scenery with added attraction of riding through the old train tunnels. The cafe looked lovely but we didn't have anything to eat.

Always a favourite place to call in on. Food is usually great and speedy service. A short walk into Bakewell or opposite along the Monsal Trail apart from dodging the bikes is very pleasant. It can get busy so we try and go midweek.

On a recent charity bike event for Lloyds Banking Group this great all purpose café, situated in the most idyllic position, provided us with a very warm welcome and free lunch for 20 cyclists in support of Children in Need. Thank you for your contribution and allowing us to pass the £10,000 target, the lunch was perfect. I would definitely... More

We parked here and used our own bikes to cycle the Monsal trail. An enjoyable 1.5 hours with some lovely views along the way and 6 lit tunnels to cycle through! We ate at the cafe in our return which was very nice too, we had jacket potato with tuna and a lovely fresh side salad and a steak ciabatta.... More

Monsal trail once used to be a railway line. It closed in 1968 and has been converted into a cycle track with walkers and horse riders also using this. It runs from Bakewell to Wye Dale and the old station at Hassop has been converted into a cafe. There is a cycle hire next door to the cafe where you... More

One of my favourites! A lovely walk along the trail with the pooches then stop off for a treat at the café. I always sit outside (I like to sit with my dogs) under the large canopy which is fab if it's raining! Lovely locally sourced food and all freshly cooked to order. Bonus is a great little gift shop... More

We have been a fan of this for some considerable time but the last experience was awful. We struggled to find clean cutlery, in fact, the teaspoon had the remains of someone's food stuck to it. The tea garden was overrun with kids who were not properly supervised by their parents. If you want a peaceful cuppa go mid week... More

They serve the best food after you have been on a bike ride they have a lot of healthy options and also some cheeky chips. We come here at least one every 3months.
