Visited here today on a rainy day having smelt the food from the outside. We were allowed to take our dog into the cafe which made it all the more worthwhile going in. Waitress service was prompt and very polite, Ordered the full English breakfast which at £4.95 was a reasonable charge. Didn't want black pudding so the Waitress stated... More

One of the reasons we visited Bakewell was the obvious one which was that I wanted to sample their tarts! The range and variety of tarts and puddings was superb.

Beautiful quaint 150 year old shop with cafe parlour above. Lots of beams and low ceilings. Fantastic service. Party of 6 seated quickly. Ordered 'the works. A pot of tea, a glass of a beautifully dry prosecco or a beer, 1 luxury sandwich roll, a large scone eith jam and clotted cream, a bakewell tart, 2 exquisite macarons, a small... More

Found very friendly. Was welcoming with my 4 legged friend. found a nice corner and nothing was too much trouble. Meal was nice and even brought out a cut up sausage for my friend and also other dogs they also had the same. I thought what a pleasant gesture. Will be going again

Just had a take out cake, cola, tea and crisps. The staff were nice, as was what we had. Nice and quick.

Learnt that the original Bakewell pudding isn't the iced tart we are so used to (American invention apparently) but a far, far nicer pudding that is a treat with custard.

We didn't eat in the cafe and only purchased Bakewell Tart and a Bakewell Pudding for a friend....these were yummy - first class tears!!! In terms of cost, I'd say slightly overpriced, but I'd expect this as we were in Bakewell!!! Service was polite, speedy and friendly.

Bakewell tarts, Bakewell pudding, take your pick. Lots of lovely pastries to chose from and all very reasonably priced. Spoilt for choice and not good for the waistline!

This outlet now seems to be called the Bakewell Pudding Factory and is located in an attractive old building. It is not one of the two competing 'original' pudding makers (their web site is rather confusing, claiming to have made the puddings for both 'over 80' and 'over 20' years - I guess 80 is 'over 20!') however I did...
