Nice ambience, very relaxing and comfy. Nice food as well. Such an old place. Awful toilets. Really stinks!! Rather like Fawlty Towers but without a Basil. One warning. If you order afternoon tea here they need prior notice or else no cakes!! Lovely miniature pots of jam also to take as mementos.

My friend and I went in for morning coffee. The atmosphere was very relaxed and peaceful. The staff were very friendly and attentive. It would have been a lovely place to have a meal if we'd have had time.

It's a lovely hotel to visit but becoming a bit tired in places... something we found quite nice if that makes sense.

I really deliberated over whether to give this place 5/5 or not. I couldn't find any fault with the food, it was all pretty amazing. I was particularly pleased with my ice cream 'sandwich' for pudding... I always enjoyed a Maxi Bon as a child and this was like a super luxurious version, served with a disc of chocolate and... We stayed here for one night in October - had trouble finding the front door and then the car park (its at the back). They mentioned several times that we had booked through Late Rooms - well if you cannot book direct on line then what do you expect. The room was OK if rather small - propbably updated in... More

Visited for dinner, my brother and sister-in-law staying at the hotel. Great relaxing atmosphere with river views, lovely restaurant with excellent well-balanced menu, staff were helpfulness itself with drinks, dinner and coffee. Very comprehensive wine-list at reasonable prices. All in all provides a superb, relaxing meal venue on idyllic surroundings, great food and staff who are determined to please.

You know how our lives can be rushed, supported by electronic media and with the constant need to think of more than one thing at once? Well....here you can experience the traditional, lengthy, family Sunday lunch in calm, hushed but not oppressive comfort. The hotel has some lovely public rooms (we had a good look around) and surrounded by beautifully... More

We took friends there for lunch recently. As none of us had been before but had seen the hotel and its lovely setting, we were all looking forward to the experience. It was an experience but not one that we shall be repeating. Note to the management: 1. Do not park newly arrived guests in the hotel foyer and leave... More
