Have stopped at Ellen House just up the road numerous times but have never got round to visiting Greenway Cafe, thank god for storm Doris ruining our day out - gorgeous cakes, can highly recommend coffee mocha cake, also beautiful hot chocolate and very friendly service. We will be back on our next visit to Matlock

Had a really delicious meal here with my friend and young child. As usual we couldn't decide what to eat so opted to share both meals and they were both so scrummy. I love the detail to the side salads packed with vegetables, fruit and seeds. I'm not a veggee myself but I love vegee food and greenway is simply... More

Yet another evening of good company, friendly staff, and as usual delicious food. As a non vegetarian I wouldn't have thought this would be up there in my choice of Friday night dining. However the food here is always fresh full of flavour ( not a tinned tomato in site ) and I can honestly say I don't miss meat... More

My hubby and I visited the Green Way Cafe for lunch. The menu & specials board didn't specify what meals were Gluten Free which is always annoying! I asked what meals were GF & was told that they couldn't guarantee anything would be GF because there was gluten ingredients in their kitchen. A non starter for sure but I stuck... More

We are a small family run vegetarian cafe serving good, honest, entirely homemade, tasty food and as we are also good, honest people we always try to be upfront with customers about the fact that we can't guarantee any of our food is gluten free as it is all prepared in a kitchen handling a lot of gluten so that... My daughter and I went for lunch and had a great time. Menu varies each time we visit, always a reasonable choice of freshly cooked veggie food with delicious salads. Service can be a bit slow but food worth the wait. Reasonable prices. Always busy. pity it's not a slighter bigger cafe as its very cosy.

The Greenaway Cafe feels tucked away, although it is less than a minute from Matlock railway station and the River Derwent. The friendly staff serve beautiful, freshly prepared vegetarian food, from small taster snacks, to satisfying but healthy meals. One of the two rooms is equipped to help diners with smaller children enjoy their visit, and there is a small... More

The Green Way Cafe is warm and honest, you know immediately from the smells around you and the consistent friendly chatter coming from the tables that it is a space designed to be enjoyed with friends and family, around pots of tea and mugs of streaming coffee. Awesome salads combined with beautiful vegetarian dishes fill you to the top only... More

I will start my review with a question. Would you drive for nearly 2 hours to have lunch in a cafe, not some swanky Michelin Star restaurant but a small cafe located off the main shopping streets in a quiet back street? Well if the answer is no then you haven't visited The Free Way Cafe! It was almost a... More

I was driving two friends down from Sheffield to Birmingham taking the scenic route when we googled what vegan options were available in Matlock. The food was stunning, the staff lovely, and the atmosphere was one of the most relaxed kitchens I've ever seen. I'd recommend this as a great place for veggies to eat and to show their non-veggie...
