Ordered soup and pate, soup was tipped over the table on arrival but pate was okay. We ordered scampi and cottage pie for main. The scampi arrived which was obviously served with frozen onion rings and chips although they falsely advertise that they serve only fresh food underlined! After waiting for 15 minutes on tge hour we had slresdly waited... More

A 20 or so years revisit, I couldn't believe the decor hadn't changed much in that time if you like the 1970s country kitchen look. Service was good and the food was good, and good value for money. If your looking for a cheap and cheerful meal, it's for you. I would visit there again.

I always judge the worth of a pub by its car park! If it's full night after night, it must be good. If it aint, it aint. Not long ago the Ploughboy car park was always full but now it isn't. So why won't I go there again? Simply because it has changed and changed for the worse. The drinks... More

Went here for lunch with some friends and the food was pretty terrible. The chicken pie was basically a puff pastry biscuit with no filling and my friend's liver and onions was really really overcooked! The all-day breakfast was pretty shocking too - wouldn't have minded as much if the meals were cheap but they are quite expensive (about £8.00... More

Could be a great little pub. Actually it is not so little! Chef has just changed and meals not so good. Also do not like the way that customers are allowed to vape in the eating area.

We went to the Ploughboy for a late breakfast/lunch. Our meals took nearly a hour to arrive. They had run out of toast but not fried bread. Also a rare steak arrived well done and a cheddar and stilton salad arrived with no stilton! Very disappointing!

A great Sunday roast. The staff were friendly but this is a very popular location so it is best to book a table. We used it as a starting point for our Plymouth ferry trip to Spain.

visited here for the second time and the service and food was again of a high standard. The lamb shank was superb and the hunters chicken was melt in the mouth!! Will definitely return and recommend.
