We dined here one of our nights in Dingle, having made reservations weeks prior. They fill up quickly and almost everyday they posted a sign outside saying there was no availability. They obviously specialize in seafood and the menu changes daily. They present the daily menu on a handwritten chalkboard, cool, but it gets propped up on a chair and kind of annoying for the table next to you while you decide ha. We had the haddock in a potato crust with cream and chives and chargrilled sea bass. All main entrees come with potatoes and vegetables and both were excellent. The restaurant is small and tables are rather close together but it is part of its unique charm. There was a sudden power outage as we finished our meal and had dessert by candlelight, a nice and unexpected way to end a delicious meal.

The ambience of the restaurant was perfect: A homely vibe, nice art/decor, subtle background music.
Floor staff were lovely, service was very quick (~15 minute wait for 3 covers). Our server spilled a drink and immediately replaced it and wiped the table with minimal fuss.
Price-wise, mains were in the range of €25-40 and lobster was charged per 100g. Gin and tonic was €10. Desserts were ~€10.
Bread was brought out first along with very nice butter and marinated olives, clearly quality produce.
Between three of us, we ordered 2 chargrilled whole sea bass and 1 monkfish tail and the food was incredible!
The sea bass was cooked simply and served with peppers, olive tapenade, lime yogurt, pickled beetroot and lentils. The sides complimented the fish very well, which was extremely tender and well seasoned.
The monkfish was also very tender and buttery and was served with button mushrooms, rice and sugar snap peas.
For dessert, we shared a lemon posset and a French apple tart. The presentation was impressive and both desserts included a selection of macerated fruit, which paired well with the tart lemon posset and the sweet apple tart.
Overall the food was very impressive and left a memorable impression. The bill came to €140 which is definitely not cheap, but the meal was absolutely worth it.

Every type of fish had been cooked in a way that complemented that type of fish. Excellent. Friendly staff and fun cosy atmosphere. Dont go if you want great modern decor or silver service staff it’s much more relaxed. Our local says U2 and Snow Patrol always eat here and other Irish fish restaurants send their staff for training here.

Advance reservations usually necessary. Essentially, OOTB does two seatings nightly. Even booking two days prior, we had to accept an early 4:30pm seating, but that was OK with us. We were semi-tired travelers and simply made it a 2-meal day.
Our server Cliona was such a good waitress - professional and efficient, but obviously cared that our experience was perfect and even chatted us up a bit when things had quieted down, and for good measure more or less walked us in to the kitchen to meet the chef and pastry chef. These folks are seriously excellent at their craft.
We shared a bottle of reasonably priced Viognier; she enjoyed the soup to start and then the scallops while I started with oysters on the half shell followed by the halibut. Macchiatos and a shared combo dessert capped off this feast.
Can't recommend OOTB enough. Go!

I made an online reservation at Outoftheblue Restaurant in Dingle and received a confirmation that we needed to vacate the table after 2 hours. On the day of our reservation, I called to inform them we would be 15 minutes late, and they confirmed it was fine, reiterating the 2-hour limit.
After traveling 120 km, we arrived only to be told there was no reservation under our name. Despite our earlier call, the staff was unfriendly and questioned if we had the right restaurant. When we showed the phone number we called, they recognized it but blamed a colleague for the mistake, offering no apology or alternative.
Our experience was extremely disappointing. The lack of professionalism and customer service at Outoftheblue was unacceptable. We won't be returning and cannot recommend this restaurant.

So disappointing! After reading many wonderful reviews we had high expectations. We made a reservation - which required a 30 euro per person advance cc deposit. The food was far below average and ridiculously expensive. 1st course: We both went for the lobster and prawn bisque - not thick enough for a true bisque and lacked flavor. Mains: The sauce on my fish was over salted and my companion’s fish was overcooked and dry. You will do much better for a far lesser cost at many other establishments in Dingle.

Overpriced and ignored. We were initially excited to eat at the Out of the Blue restaurant. We had a reservation and arrived early and seated. Our server Christie took our order, delivered our starter and we did not see her again until I asked for the bill. Our mains were delivered by a fellow server. My wife had a Halibut dish that was overcooked and dry. After I had finished we waited and waited until I flagged down Chrissie. My wife had 3/4 of her Halibut left. Christie never asked if there was a problem or how can we make this right. She just took our credit card and moved on. We had a reservation for the next night which I cancelled. The prices were the highest we experienced in Ireland and all the other days we have experienced in Ireland have been very welcoming and amazing until eating at OOTB. I’m not saying you should not eat here but just sharing what we experienced.

Without a doubt the nicest seafood I’ve ever eaten, I had squid in chilli for starter and seafood platter for main, all perfectly cooked and well presented, I was blown away. the staff were chatty professional and attentive without being overbearing. I would recommend this place to anyone.

As excellent as we were told, OOTB not only served fish cooked to perfection (to be expected a scant 200' from the Atlantic, right? The halibut may have been the best ever, flaky, tender, perfectly done) but the chef(s) have a clear vision & steady hand with every dish, from sides to appetizers to little mounds of Cole slaw flavored with fresh dill or other vegetables that adorned the entree's plate that reminded me of amuse-bouches surrounding the entree. Everything looked & tasted fresh, juxtaposing flavors, textures, & colors in ways that were creative yet were never precious, mannered, or simply clever. We were glad we'd been advised to reserve a table instead of standing in line. It's a busy & justifiably popular spot. The 2-hour time limit in our seating posed no problem--service was quick & without rushing, we were easily able to comfortably enjoy our meal while accommodating OOTB's business plan of turning tables after 2 hours.

We enjoyed salmon tartare appetizer that was well presented with fresh bread and olives. The trio of fish with the lobster sauce was excellent. My husband and daughter enjoyed pollock baked in a crust of shredded potatoes. The non-alcoholic beer worked well for me while my husband and daughter enjoyed wine. Service was excellent and the atmosphere cozy. Reservations well in advance are needed as only 4 pm and 9pm were available 7-10 days in advance.

A very popular restaurant--I'd booked it months before and was right to do so as people kept coming in for the forlorn hope of a table. It wasn't quite as amazing as I thought it would be--the bread was very good and the food tasty but I'd been expecting a bit more--not as gourmet as I expected but very pricey. Probably the best place to eat in Dingle though

Having looked at the excellent reviews, we decided to treat ourselves to a special meal here on the last night of our holiday. The mussels were delicious, but the sauce a bit thin. The main course fish was over cooked and flavourless. The only flavour came from the overpowering, rich sauce which was heavy on the garlic. The waitress was not particularly personable, bordering on rude. All in all, we were very disappointed with the meal – the food is not outstanding (as the prices would suggest). Definitely over-priced.

Happy to walk by this place. When the sign said there were no more reservations available for that evening, we immediately went online and snagged a reservation for the next night. We truly lucked out. We had a wonderful server, the selections were plentiful, the presentation of the food is unique and creative, and all of our meals tasted excellent. We would highly recommend this restaurant. It was a lovely experience.

Because we had read how popular the restaurant was, my wife made reservations months in advance, and when we arrived five minutes early for our reservations, they did not have us in the system and we were told we could only sit outside on the patio as they had no table for us. In a fun quirk, the menu is delivered to the table on a giant dry erase board with all of the fresh fish/specials of the day on it. The food was quite good but not the most memorable meal of our trip - doesn't live up to the hype and high expectations, especially touting itself with a listing in the Michelin Guide. That said, the prices were very reasonable for a touted seafood restaurant, especially with such a wide selection of fresh caught fish.

Delicious spot in Dingle for the best seafood dinner! Terrific atmosphere and wonderful service. Halibut and hake were delicious. And I really appreciate chef making scrumptious mango panna cotta so I could have a nut free dessert. Thank you OOTB for a special experience and keep up the amazing work!
PS make sure you get reservations!
