As the title says, a mere five stars does not do this place any justice.
Suzy greeted us not as guests or patrons but as if we'd known each other for years. We could not have asked for a more hospitable welcome.
Suzy made sure to take the time to chat to us even when the restaurant started to get busy and without letting a single table go too long unattended despite being on her own on a busy Thursday evening.
My girlfriend is quite savvy about wines and to the goal of having just the *right* pairing, she had a few questions to put Suzy through her paces but Suzy was more than able to keep up and only proved how knowledgeable she was in return! When you dine here, you are in the hands of someone who not only knows what they're doing but loves to do it.
The food is phenomenal and calling it mere food does not do it justice. This is not food made by some chef. These are works of art crafted with a skill and passion I have seldom seen in other restaurants.
There are no accidents in this restaurants. Everything from the cutlery to the napkins in the restrooms have that smack of being deliberately chosen with every detail having been pored over in this place. Bravo to Suzy and (Damien i think she said?). You have gone above and beyond and for fear of sounding repetative, 5 stars do not do you justice.

This is our fourth time dining at this restaurant. I cannot rate it high enough. Where to begin..the service is wonderful. Suzie is a wonderful host. She always provides such lovely touches,remembering our names, nice little chats, a warm Irish friendly vibe. The restaurant provides an amazing and relaxing ambiance. If you appreciate great service,decor and exquisite food, this is it!! Now for the food..an absolute talent!Just wow!Every meal we have had here, the conversation through out,is a food journey.
The flavours,the textures, from start to finish this food is what I would call 'an experience '. Mouthwatering. Stunning. Creative.
It is consistent every time. We have eaten in many a restaurant in Ireland. This my friends is number one.

I enjoyed a meal with group of 7 friends at the kingdom restaurant this weekend and from start to finish it was a fabulous experience. The venue was recently refurbished so layout was fabulous! The staff are so friendly with Suzie one of the owners taking such great care of us and very accommodating! The menu was simple but perfectly covered the needs of our group. The food was top class and some of the best I’ve had in Ireland, totally Michelin star worthy! I had the crab and pea gratin to start and mouthwatering melt in your mouth wagyu beef for main course with the most amazing mash and vegetables seasoned to perfection and with a crunch! Huge compliments to the chef!

I’m not sure where to start when reviewing this restaurant. It scores full marks on every level. The decor and ambience hits all the right notes - a balanced mix of sophisticated style, low lighting (but not so low that you can’t read the menu) and comfort.
The welcome is friendly and genuine. Any questions about the menu were met with an easy knowledge (not rehearsed) from someone you know has a true interest in food and wine. Then there was the food - superb. I could describe how the crab gratin dissolves on the tongue or the look of ecstasy when my husband took his first mouthful of the blade of beef but it just wouldn’t do it justice. Go there. Experience it for yourself. At a time when we are all staycationing this has to be on the ‘must visit’ list. 10/10. 5* and the rest.

What a gem of a restaurant. Kingdom 1795 is a must for everyone and anyone looking for something special. Susie front of house is friendly and professional. She brings the relaxed atmosphere to his incredibly decorated space for dining. Young Head Chef Damien supplies some of the best food you will get on this island. His chocolate fondant desert is decadence on a plate. He is a talent to behold and is crafting a menu that will not disappoint. Make it your business to travel to this restaurant you will not regret it.

Our visit was absolutely super. Our waitress was so pleasant and really knew her stuff when it came to wine and food. Really lovely experience. Food was to die for. Everyone left absolutely stuffed. Cannot wait to return.

What a meal in such a beautiful room. One of our group was pregnant and our hostess took time and great effort to go through the menu with her in particular. We were blown away by this caring approach and really appreciated extra care. Everything we had was fabulous. Can’t wait to come back. Only a matter of time before they are reward with a bib gourmand

Dined with a party of 6 and we all agreed it was the nicest meal we have had in a very long time. Gorgeous menu making it very hard to choose, good size portions and the restaurant setting is very welcoming and cosy. A must if visiting Killorglin or the surrounding area.

Everything about this restaurant added up to a memorable night out. Service and welcome were lovely warm and friendly. Ambience was cosy and elegant. The food was really excellent-every single course was perfect which is a difficult feat in even the Michelin starred places. We had crab and pea gratin and crispy lamb to start and the duck and hake for main-all flawless. The mash, veg and triple cooked chips were so good (often these are an after thought but not here!). Desserts were chocolate fondant and caramelised apple with baked custard-perfectly executed. The wine list is gorgeous with a lot of interesting choices.
It is a really wonderful and welcome addition to the restaurant choices in Killorglin. I don’t know why it is not listed as number one out of the restaurants in Killorglin (or Kerry or Ireland even!) but I think that’s down to the algorithm regarding number of reviews as it has only been open a year and no doubt has been closed during lockdown etc.

We ate here while visiting Kerry. The service, atmosphere and food were second to none.
The owners attention to detail, knowledge and paring of foods works fantastically.
This place deserves a Michelin star without a doubt!
We will be back!

Dined in The Kingdom with friends last night. All our dishes were beautifully presented - a feast for all the senses. The attention to detail in every dish makes The Kingdom the ideal place to enjoy gourmet dining in beautiful surroundings. Consistently brilliant.

My husband and I had dinner on Wednesday evening. A really lovely evening. I have been lucky to have dined there before so I wanted my husband to also enjoy this dining delight. Suzi was managing the floor on her own but made us feel like we were the only people dining as her attention to detail us next to none. The crab starter was delicious as was the wagyu beef. The decor is fabulous. Looking forward to our next visit to Kerry already.

Fantastic experience from start to finish
Such a lovely, lovely experience. Dined with my parents and my lovely son for his birthday. The booking process was swift and courteous, I made a note at booking that it was my sons birthday which was noted and wonderfully celebrated with a rendition of Happy Birthday and a suitably mortified teenager! 🥰
The welcome and the service are the best you could expect anywhere - warm, professional, funny and super informed. The food… I don’t know where to start. We didn’t send a bite of food back, it was such an absolute treat, there is such care taken in everything they put on a plate… I’d be here for paragraphs talking about the incredible food so I’ll just let the pictures hopefully do it some justice.
Couldn’t recommend an evening here more, not the cheapest option (as they openly acknowledge) but by far one of the most enjoyable evenings and dining experiences I’ve had in a while. Can’t wait to go back!

I have yet to be disappointed by a single dish in the Kingdom. It is truly michelin star standard. From the very first mouthful of warm sourdough bread to the last bite of dessert, it is an exceptional experience. I would highly recommend to anyone looking for something special. The food, the service and the setting are all 5 stars! I count myself lucky to be living so close to this wonderful restaurant.

Had a marvellous meal here with 3 friends this week. From the starters -I had crab with kohlrabi and horseradish , to the amazingly flavourful main courses - I had the meltingly tender Wagyu Beef Blade , to the delicious desserts -the food presented was a delight. Our thanks to Suzi for her knowledgeable insights , charm and expertise , and especially to the chef for a truly memorable dining experience .
