Booked a table for the entire afternoon for Guinness, rugby and dinner. 11 of us can't find faults with any of it. Staff so fantastic, atmosphere superb and food to die for. Come in and enjoy this little gem in Howth 😋😋😋😋

If you like scampi, look no further, seriously, you'll not get better anywhere else. We took a family trip over to Howth to walk around the harbor and then to check out the Abbey Tavern for dinner. We were greeted at the door by a very friendly hostess and shown to our table, we had three kids with us. The... More

We had a table tucked into a comfortable back corner where the door was open and we could see it get dark outside. Even as it got colder outside our corner stayed very comfortable and we were also able to charge our phones after a long day trip. I had the fisherman's platter and it was a brilliant experience of... More

The Abbey Tavern is a great place to head for after a walk around Howth. The staff are excellent and welcoming and in winter, the open fires provide an inviting incentive to stay. In this pub, The food is presented well and delivered in a timely manner. The chowder is very good with excellent brown bread. The Scampi main was... More

I have eaten here on a number of occasions recently and the food, service and ambience is very good. I would highly recommend booking as it fills up very quickly particularly at weekends.

I had the fish chowder and a Guiness in the Abbey Tavern at lunch. The fire wasn't roaring that day as it was warmish outside, but the staff were very friendly, the place very clean and very cosy. The chowder was fantastic, full of fish, some potatoes in a cream base. Very tasty.

I visited Dublin for family celebration and was recommended a walk round the Howth headland followed by lunch at the Abbey Tavern. This proved a great recommendation, walk fantastic and very worthwhile on sunny day though longer than expected. I found people extremely friendly and welcoming, allowing us to leave our luggage while we walked. Very much a gastropub with... More
