A fantastic restaurant we enjoyed our lunch there so much we chose to return there again the following evening. The house speciality is smoked fish from the award winning smokehouse next door. However they also offer a wide range of other dishes too. Make sure...More

If you're in this part of the world, make time to have a meal here. Reservations are a good idea - the place is small and the demand is understandable at first bite. Herb-crusted cod (which must have been swimming this morning), fresh seafood chowder,...More

We had a delicious meal here with mussels, fish and chips and local stout. Top quality fresh fish in a laid back atmosphere. No fuss and very good value.

So our family vacation is becoming a bit of a pub crawl: Stopping for lunch wherever we are at the various local pubs. I went back and reviewed the poor reviews for this place to see what they had encountered. They are mostly long ago...More

A typical unpretentious Irish pub with occasional music. How many places in the West of Ireland can you visit from England once or twice a year and the barman remembers what you drink? A precious piece of real Ireland. Long may it flourish.

We stayed across from the tavern- went there to have a meal and experience some authentic Irish music. Both were excellent; so was the service. Local musicians play live music. Their hot smoked salmon was awesome as was the lamb stew. They apparently own the...More

While this is a pub and the set up is very a pub atmosphere the food is very much high end restaurant. They have specials on at night and these are worth looking at. The Tavern is only a few metres from the town square....More

We dined at the Roadside Tavern and had a lovely meal, with new friends. Service was sloppy. A few days later, we traveled there again and was told there was a wait. When I asked how long did they expect the wait to be, the...More

Sorry I cannot answer the question. I dined only in the establishment, and did not know that it was residential.

Description
PUB OPEN ALL YEAR ROUND 10AM TILL LATE FOOD SERVED FROM MARCH UNTIL NOVEMBER 12-4 6-9 EVERYDAY Last orders 8.45 In spring 2011, Peter Curtin embarked on a new endeavour: He set up the Burren Brewery in the Roadside Tavern in Lisdoonvarna. The building, which in 1865 started off as a pub, then was expanded into a bakery, now also harbours a micro-brewery under its roof. At the same time it is an eatery and a renowned music venue for traditional and contemporary music. Peter realised very quickly how complicated and time-consuming it was to brew his own beer - it really is a labour of love. He enrolled the help of a Master Brewer, and the result can now be tasted in the Roadside Tavern: The Burren Gold is a delicious, characterful lager. The mainstream lagers available every-where just cannot compete with this one!The Burren Red with its great red colour is a spicy, slightly sweet ale which even features a hint of smoke. It seems to become the favourite among the punters at the Roadside! The Burren Black is a stout that does not have to fear the competition of a certain other black stuff. It is smooth and full-bodied, with a creamy crown of froth on top - and definitely alive inside! A heavenly drink.
