Really nice local Pub, good ambiance, clean and well stocked. If you are a visitor to these parts, try a pint of Murphys Stout, a much superior stout brewed in Cork and a real alternative to Irelands National beverage! A blazing coal fire gives warmth and cheeriness to the premises. The locals are friendly and chatty if you want to... More

One of those places where you are welcomed as a friend, even though it's your first visit.Although not many places in Eire serve real ale the pint was decent.

Stayed in the Glengarriff Park Hotel next door. After a couple of long days it was nice each night to pop next door with no effort for a drink by the open fire before heading up to the room. It's a great advantage being able to walk from the hotel to the pub without going outside.

We had a lovely evening meal here a good choice of food reasonably priced. There is a thai influence in the cooking.

Myself and my partner went to MacCarthy's for a few drinks and something to eat on Sat 23rd Oct. it is a newish pub but has an old Irish pub style and feel to it. Very nice staff and the food was excellent.

We ate lunch here and it was absolutely delicious. I had the burger with bacon, cheese, and chips. My mother had the seafood chowder which smelled amazing, and my friend had a salad with chicken on top. A nice woman sat next to us and chatted us up. She had a fish cake which looked awesome. it was huge, much... More

I visited this pub several times during a week long stay close by. The food was lovely and bar staff fantastic. Very friendly and welcoming staff. One thing put me off... on one visit a staff member, looked like a Manager came into the bar. He pushed past two bar staff and was very rude to them. He was wearing... More
