Stopped in here on our way from Kerry to Kilkenny. We sat at bar as place was full of bus tours. Menus was slammed down on bar by a middle aged lady it looked to have been a husband and wife set up. We waited 20 mins on return to take ordered. I wasn't so hungry so I asked for... More

Certainly an authentic pub, but light on the patrons while we were there about 8pm. The food was tolerable pub grub. If you are looking for high end food, try somewhere else. If you like local aura, this place will work for you.

Malone's is certainly not five-star dining. But the food is decent and reflective of the local palate, and the service is acceptable. Probably a good place to visit if you're looking an authentic local experience. The roast duck was decent but not outstanding. The roasted chicken was somewhat better than the duck. The bread wasn't great.

I organise a golf society weekend every year for 15-20 people. In 2015 we came across this place by chance, and we had such a good time that we decided to return in 2016. The staff here were amazing, the owner/manager has a quite way about him which I think some people may mistake for rudeness but he literally bent... More

I have been stopping in to see John at Malone's Galtee in for many years with my guided tour groups. Always good service, great lunch, delicious pints! My clients love the staff and the atmosphere. Any stop in Cahir would be incomplete with a visit to this venerable old pub.

Take 10-15 mins to pass through to the next town if you enjoy nice food and a friendly service. Food burnt, reheated and no taste what so ever. People expect good food now a days when you are expected to pay €10.95 per main course. Was so hungry we quickly ate and drove to clonmel for coffee and cake. Need... More

My husband and i visited 30th august for lunch. He got chicken maryland and i got beef casserole on champ. It was home cooking at its very best. There was so much of it that we could not eat the rest of the day .Delicious tastes and great service. Lovely bottle of red wine and this pub seemed a winner... More

Ordered the most expensive item on the menu - 10oz fillet steak medium well. Arrived as two steaks - both cremated. Reheated vegetables and some unidentifiable substance meant to be pepper sauce. For €27 (in a pub!) it's not unreasonable to expect more! Soulless place.

If you are looking to eat proper pub grub in a traditional setting, this is your place to go. John the owner/manager always makes sure his pub restaurant is up to scratch and his staff are professional and friendly. Frequented by both locals and visitors it give you a real insight of a genuine pub with excellent food. Highly recommended... More
