Best restaurant around for the people looking for mid budget food. Service is excellent and superb atmosphere. Yes worth a visit.

I missed my bus and was stuck in Cavan in heavy rain. Never been here before I want into the closest pub and that was the Black horse inn. The service was very kind and there was a fireplace where I could warm up. If I'm ever stuck in Cavan again I'm definitely coming here again just for the staff!... More

The menu did not suit a vegan lunch but when asked they came up with an option that was beyond expectations. The person doing the cooking is very,very good. We had a stir fry over baked potato and steamed veggies on the side was totally amazing. It is a very lovely traditional Irish pub with some of the best food... More

Amazing food with really friendly staff and great service , was one of my favourite meals out in a long time , went in to the bar to eat , our drinks and menus were brought to us beside the fire , our orders were then taken and we were brought up to our table in the dining area just... More

Only one other party dining at 1:30 on a Saturday so I would expect good food and service. Bar man and ladies serving were all friendly and helpful but the lunch was a let down. Smoked haddock deep fried in batter was overcooked and unappetising. The crumbed plaice fillet was not fresh, unseasoned and the veg and potato was cold.... More

massive bar and diner, very friendly welcome, the place was spotless and the staff were brill,the food was excellent and a good price, it's very popular with nearby workers at lunch time, the locals know best.

We were there for my wife and sister in laws Birthday dinner last weekend. As ever the food was excellent. Thanks to Marie and James for looking after us so well, the service is always very good.

We were in Cavan for a football match and found the Big Apple by chancel Essentially the Big Apple is a very good pub with a better than average pub restaurant. There is much to like here.
