My family and I are all over on holiday from the UK and have been staying in Buncrana for the past week. We tried the Drift Inn on Thursday evening after reading several very good reviews about it on Facebook and Trip Advisor and I have to say we were not disappointed! The food was absolutely beautiful, i had the... More

We had a surprise engagement party in the Drift last Saturday night and I can not speak highly enough about it. There was 25 of us in total. The food was amazing and the staff couldn't have done anymore to make us feel welcome. From start to finish the service provided was perfect. We even got to reserve a table... More

Nice pint of Guinness and excellent dinner for 2. Even allowed a Baileys coffee instead of having a desert 😋

We were a party of five and I was the first to arrive. I ordered a drink while waiting. However, despite enquiring about it several times it still didn't materialise. After asking a third server I was served the wrong drink. Shame. The pub/restaurant has a very pleasant atmosphere. The food was very good and I enjoyed the lamb. Would... More

Food and service were first class. We went with our three year old who had the loveliest home made chicken goujons. All the meals were top quality and thoroughly enjoyable in lovely relaxed surroundings.

Great food in a cosy atmosphere with friendly staff. Booking in advance recommended as it gets really busy.

Quality food, and service!! This is a lovely restaurant, with a great relaxed ambience. The food is full of flavours, and the staff are very courteous, and helpful. One of my favourite restaurants as the food is always consistently scrumptious 😊

Did not eat here but had a real nice pint of Guinness in old world surroundings, reminds me of pubs from the 60s.

Have not been back to this place in many years but after a day of typical Donegal weather of misty rain and soaked whilst walking our dog. It was great to be told dogs were welcome in the bar area. There was a large open fire and great atmosphere, cosy and warm after a day out.We had the fish and... More

Description
The Drift Inn bar and restaurant Buncrana is one like no other, set against the windswept banks of the Lough Swilly it stands out as a main vocal point on entrance to the town. The Drift Inn has a history which many will agree compares to no other bars in Buncrana, once a functioning railway station up until the mid 1900's it has kept this theme very close to the heart of the bar with original railway timetables still to be seen on the walls of the premises and the water tower once used to fill steam trains standing tall at the rear of the premises. The drift Inn also has a strong connection with the sea as our name would suggest, the connection is carried through the bar and restaurant with our boat shaped bar the "St.Jude" standing strong over these many years having many drinks crossing her deck. The has a wide variety of areas for each patron to enjoy a drink or a bit to eat, the more relaxed harness room is an old favourite of many patrons with the open fire always blazing, the main bar boasts an open brick fire which ha been know the burn full trees in one day (depending on the staff working), then we have the more private "wee room" with a piano incase anyone is feeling musical after a few stout (which many think is the best pint of stout in the town). There is also two tv's which play all major sporting events and can be split between two to meet everybodys needs.
