Had some beers in the bar which to me has the look of a bar that was built to appear to tourists, especially U.S tourists. The craft beer on offer was excellent. The prices were high but the staff were friendly. While we didn't dine in the bar, the food being served certainly looked good.

I ate here recently and the food was rather bland and tasteless. The calamari starter was poor as was the main of fish and chips. The hotel is quite pretentious but it's food just fails to deliver. I felt sorry for the staff having to refer deferentially to customers with 'yes sir' and 'yes madam'.

My husband and I have had the pleasure of staying in the Powerscourt Hotel on 2 occasions and on both visits we ate in McGill's Irish bar . I am such a plain eater and find the hotel restaurant menu too rich for my taste and we were delighted to find McGill's which is actually located on the lower ground... More

Nice quaint pub located on the lower level of the hotel. Not the best pub food but not really the worse. They do lack more traditional Irish fare other than fish and chips (that's English, isn't it?)

Lively duo played and sang while we enjoyed many pints. Food offerings were delicious. Family friendly during lunch and early evening hours.

Much enjoyed for a quick evening meal on the lighter side. Two sisters enjoyed again later that evening for a nitecap!

Good service and pretty decent food in what feels like a traditional pub located in the Powerscourt Hotel.

While staying at the hotel, we discovered this pub restaurant. The food is quite good, the service was wonderful, and the prices are good. A nice place to just chill, visit, have some good food and drink at a descent price. It is nicely decorated . My wife and I both had the fish and chips and it was really... More

Was rather disappointed with McGills especially when it's situated with in the wonderful Powerscourt hotel. Bangers and Mash was just ok, portions were small and Sausages were not to my liking. Limited menu, Wife was also very disappointed with Quesadilla meal. Will try again as maybe we chose the wrong items but this visit was just ok.

Drink is a little bit more expensive than your average pub but there is a great atmosphere here with great entertainment. You wouldn't think you were inside a hotel bar it feels more like a little irish pub in the country.

This Irish pub is more than a name or an address: it embodies a spirit of friendly congeniality, a culture of conversation and story. McGill's manifests this magnificently, full of interesting artefacts and memorabilia, with a wonderful bar, made for elbows. As well as a fine selection of whiskeys, beers and stouts, McGill's offers a tasty menu of wholesome, traditional dishes, prepared and served with imagination and style.
