We were travelling through on the way past Kielder Water and up into Scotland, and Falstone Old School was recommended by our B&B hosts in Bellingham. I was very happy we were directed here. The food is gorgeous (the scones!), the atmosphere is very relaxed and friendly, and it's not just tea and cakes. There is even a well stocked... More

When we are in the Keilder area we always drop in on the Falstone Tea Rooms. They are really good value and the food is always nice. They have free wi-fi which I find useful as it allows me to check on the weather. They also sell the basic essentials milk, bread, sun cream etc.

This school was converted into a tearoom and local shop with EU money and it has been very well done. It's a tearoom but the menu is more varied than just tea and cake. I had the vegetarian lasagne with chips and salad and my husband had the ploughmans with their own home cooked ham which he said was delicious.... More

Lovely tea rooms. Staff were ultra friendly and ultra helpful, providing local information and even rang the local pub to book a table for us.

A real gem. Beautiful little village with an absolutely wonderful tea room. The friendliest most helpful service you could imagine, and great food too.

We arrived at the Old School tearoom by walking 3 miles down from Tower Knowe car park on Kielder Water. First stop was therefore to pay a visit to the eco conveniences. With a glass roof, solar electricity and rainwater collection for flushing this is ecotastic. However the best bit is the food - we had great bowls of tomato... More

Popped in on our way to Kielder - burger and salad for me, soup and a roll for my partner. Great service, friendly staff, clean and warm inside. Just what we wanted and well priced. So much better than being fleeced by more expensive places :-)

Description
Falstone Old School is a tearoom and craft gallery in the Victorian village schoolroom. Open from 10.30 we provide a full range of home cooked meals, including breakfast, lunch, soups, sandwiches and puds. We also sell locally made crafts, preserves and gifts. The building is in the quiet village of Falstone, near to the reservoir at Kielder and is part of the Northumberland National Park, making us a good stopping-off point for cyclists, walkers, motorbikers and car drivers exploring the Park and forest. We are dog, bike and boot friendly! (and have a free carpark). Wifi is available for customers wishing to keep in touch their everyday lives.
