We recently visited this place over the April bank holiday, very friendly staff with great beer, atmosphere and food so if you are in the area this is certainly worth a visit, highly recommended including the local stout !!

We came across this village pub a short distance from St Austell by accident. The pub is part of the well respected St Austell Brewery chain. They have a reasonable range of beers and a good choice of gins including some Cornish gins. My impression was that the restaurant majored on meat although there were some vegetarian options. The ribeye... More

Had lunch today at the Hewas Inn today. The occasion was my Dad's 84th birthday. The Pub is a good old fashioned "proper pub" that hasn't been titivated into a modern sterile place like so many have. Nice lunch, fish pie special was good , steak and kidney pie was not good, a small portion of pastry which was over cooked. Very quiet at our visit, some pleasant background music would of helped. Bar staff pleasant and helpful. Recentley re furbed, possibly better atmosphere when more than the two of us in the pub.

Just returned from a perfect Sunday lunch experience. Lovely straightforward proper pub. Sunday roast was excellent. Attentive and efficient service. Plentiful and well cooked veg, not overcooked but not half raw. Main thing that made our visit so enjoyable was the staff. We were looked after at different times by two young ladies and one young man. All three were... More

We eat here regularly but on this occasion disappointed. OH had the amazing burger and fries. I ordered steak and kidney pie from specials board. The pie filling was good and tasty but no kidney to be seen or tasted , there were mushrooms though.Lovely gravy lots of it but I think that was to cover the burnt very hard... More

Not pre booked but made most welcome. First class pint (not driving) and an excellent meal. We have been many times before and will certainly go again.
