A beautiful drive up a winding road to the top at the castle. This is a quaint restaurant with a wonderful outdoor seating area (I'm sure packed when the weather is nice!), large indoor seating area and easy parking out front. The setting is beautiful...and well worth the drive with amazing views once you get there! The interior décor is simple and comfortable. The menu includes delicious typical German dishes at VERY reasonable prices and VERY large portions - you will not go home hungry, but be sure to leave room for dessert. I ordered the smoked ham with a mushroom sauce and potatoes and vegetables (Schweinelende auf Champignonrehmsobe mit geshwenktem gemuse und Kroketten). I was so full, but had to try the cheesecake cream cake for dessert (Kasesahne Torte) which was light and delicious! Kudos to Tim, Tina and their team for a wonderful meal!! As an aside, this is a fabulous venue for weddings or large group gatherings. Make sure to eat here if you are anywhere near Koenigsberg. You won't be disappointed!!More

Two of us had a nice lunch at the Schloßberg-Gaststätte. The restaurant was not crowded, but there was a wedding reception taking place in an adjacent space. This may have had an impact on the service in the restaurant. Ours was slow and inconsistent. The...menu had a very nice selection of dishes. My wife chose the Zander while I chose the Spare Ribs. The Zander was good and there was a generous portion of vegetables and potatoes. The Spare Ribs were different, and not what I had expected. To me, the meat should be slow-cooked to caramelize the sauce and to impart the barbecue favor. This sauce was more liquid and less flavorful - but neither excellent nor bad. The accompanying salad was generous and the bread good. On the positive side, the bill for the two meals and two beers was a reasonable 29€.More

Sitting outside during a golden autumn day - it doesn't get much better than this. Outside is self service so you have to Balance your drinks up the wooden tables on the ramparts. The view and the ambiance is worth it. The Schnitzel are great...- lean and yummy with very nice homemade fries. If that's not enough try the cakes.More
