Very reasonably priced pub grub. Good choice of food and right next to the river, so it's a good spot on a warm day if you fancy a walk afterwards.

We've been to the Hungry Horse a couple of times before and have mixed feelings about the place. However, we didn't want to drive too far, wanted a scenic location and a cheap meal and this fits the bill. We were quite early so not too busy, although our initial wait at the bar for drinks was longer than necessary... More

Went at 5pm on a Friday. Not busy .Orders taken and served quite quickly. Food was very tasty, but table was sticky and menu card was smeared with dry food/drink.

First time using this establishment, good prices and offers for most nights food was served very fast. Staff were very polite and helpful. Had two meals and two drinks one was a pint for under £15

Food was awful. Myself and the wife had a mini mixed grill and it was barely edible. Bland undercooked chips, processed chicken, overcooked and odd tasting sausages and an sliver of crusty gammon. Cutlery was dirty and we didn't have enough napkins, condiments were taken from our table mid meal. I expected Weatherspoons type place but this was far below... More

First visit to a Hungry Horse, will not use them again! Restaurant was picked as near to Diggerland and we had spent the day there for grandsons birthday. Rest of family not willing to visit Diggerland suggested it. We arrived around 5pm, the table set aside for us still had dirty dishes and cleaning equipment on it, as nobody around... More

Will never eat here again, got worse every time we visited. Given them enough chances now, no improvement. Ordered jacket potatoe with beans for a lunchtime snack, well when it eventually turned up the top was Luke warm at best, and the while inner potatoe was stone cold, took it back, to be told it was warm enough!!! After asking... More

Went to the hungry horse for a quick bite to eat and a drink with a business partner. The venue itself was pretty good and the prices were fantastic. Staff made me feel welcome and we're happy to serve! For basic pub grub, you couldn't go wrong with this establishment.

Atmosphere was not great. They were understaffed. Waited 30minutes just to be served and it wasn't even busy. Limited drinks- we were informed there was no diet option. Meats were not cooked properly chicken especially was pink and mushy in the middle the chips were raw. Me and my 3children all left feeling ill and were very ill all night... More

I don't think I've ever been here and not had something go wrong. From start to finish tonight was a bit of a disaster really and considering it is a Sunday night into a bank holiday, I am shocked at the staffing levels. Dirty tables, long queues for the bar, long waits for food, despite other tables coming out before... More
