After securing our room at Raleigh Rooms, we ventured over to the Burnt Cape Cafe, only restaurant in town. My dad had a moose burger with fries and said it was delicious and I had a one piece pan seared cod with mashed potatoes and...coleslaw. All of it was fresh and delicious! The owner allowed me to have just one piece instead of a two piece dinner and even lowered the price for me. We finished up with fresh cheesecake with both bakeapple and partridgeberry toppings because we couldn’t pick one. The waitress was only on her second day and was very sweet. I’m a huge hockey fan and loved all of the hockey memorabilia on the walls and appreciated the owner showing me her families private collection down the hallway.More

Small pleasant restaurant in Raleigh. Basic menu of usual fare of burgers, chicken etc for people staying here seasonally. Glad they are there. Service friendly. Lots of hockey memorabilia on the walls.

Years ago we went on a guided tour of Burnt Cape. Our tour guide was from Raleigh so we decided to visit her home town this year. We stopped here for a light lunch so we ordered the chowder and a traditional turkey vegetable soup....While we were waiting for our food, orders of pan fried cod kept going by being delivered to other tables. It smelled so good that to make a long story short, we ordered the cod as well and it was as good as it smelled. So much for the light lunch. Thanks for a delicious meal. This happened in July 2019. Sorry for the lateness of the review.More

If you happen to find yourself in this ghost-town-feeling hamlet this is one of your few eating options. Fortunately, the food is good and the setting decent (think breakfast cafe ambience cum hockey pcitures). Lots of seafood choices (note: all salmon in NL is farm...rasied). The owners do not provide an access code for the internet except for the guests staying in their hotel across the street. The owners have: the restaurant, a small grocery, cabins, and apparently the only gas in town. One of them also drives the school bus! This is not a very handy spot to get but if you should find yourself here check this one out.More

We only had the chowder, but it was the best of our two-week trip: flavourful and plentiful. Friendly, relaxed atmosphere.

Fantastic small and very friendly cafe, tucked away in the north of NL. I ate the best fish of my entire trip here, huge steaks of halibut and homemade chips, cooked to absolute perfection. Thank you!

If you are ever in the vicinity of Raleigh, NL you must eat at the Burnt Cape Cafe. The food is excellent with great service. The Cafe owners were there and are super friendly, very knowledgeable of the area and prepare great meals.

We went there for supper and breakfast the next morning. We were pleasantly surprised and so glad we ate there. Ted is an accomplished chef and Marina is a great hostess. The Moose Philly steak was to die for! Ted came out during breakfast to...chat with us and tell us about his love for hockey and share some history of his hockey memorabilia on the walls. We would definitely eat there again.More

We stopped in for breakfast and stayed the entire day, ending with the best lobster dinner ever! We took the Stroll and scoff, toured the barrens with the knowledgeable owner, learned about history and plants. Nextdoor is a shop with amazing carvings done by a...different family. Everyone was so friendly and helpful, we would go there again!More

This place was very busy every time we went. I had the moose burger the first time with fries. I would have preferred the sauce on the side, but it was still very good. I had a BLT for lunch one day and it was...good as well. My last meal here was the cod - panfried and it was excellent! I would definitely eat the meat and fish choices again - they were excellent. Hockey theme inside. He has some awesome singed jerseys inside.More

We’ve eaten a lot of fish chowder in the last month, and this was one of the best. Cod and chips were good, as well, with the fries hand cut. An iceberg beer and a glass of red wine, and we were set, too full...for dessert.More

Moose cheese steak. Yes! All the fellows had it and absolutely loved it. We stayed in Raleigh for 4 days and it was such a good idea. We asked about getting 'screeched in' and the owner of the restaurant arranged it. The highlight of our...trip! Such fun! But they put a lot into it. Leave a big tip!More

My husband and I went here after a long day of riding on the West Coast. We were extraordinarily happy with the meal, actually more so than a much more exclusive and expensive seafood restaurant we had visited in St John. I had the cod...and my husband the seafood platter, both dishes came well seasoned and prepared and the fries (or chips as we call them in Scotland), took me back to the good old days of those my Dad used to make. Dessert was baked apples (a special berry found on the island) over ice cream- deliciousMore

I hesitate to write my review after reading others but I have to be honest. Our first night here and we were hungry after traveling all day. My dil and myself ordered a cup of seafood chowder. Now where we live in Maine, chowder has...a milk base. The chowder we had here had a stew base with hardly any seafood and $11.99 a cup. We ordered French fries to go with it, which were good but honestly, an extra $2.50 for a couple of tablespoons of gravy? I guess we are spoiled in Maine with our awesome seafood. This eating place was a disappointment!More
