Always our first choice in this area , JF has set the standard for pub food using local ingredients for years. The menue varies by season but holds its standards. God beers and a nice choice of wine. Friendly atmosphere and attentive staff. Best to book

We visited on Saturday evening and the lady behind the bar managed to find us a table even though we hadn't booked and they were busy. The burgers were absolutely amazing and so many chips we couldn't finish them all. The scampi with hand cut chips was also great. Lovely country pub atmosphere.

Excellent Food, excellent beer, friendly welcoming atmosphere. We've been visiting this brilliant pub for a dozen years or so. Would recommend to anyone, who enjoys a proper pub, genuine conversation with strangers & everything done with a smile.. We've taken family here and marked special occasions ourselves & and never had a word of complaint.

We were a party of twelve (including children) and booked in advance for a Sunday lunchtime meal. From entering the pub to leaving we had excellent service throughout our visit. We all thoroughly enjoyed our Sunday roast. Meat was plentiful and tender, an abundance of veg and what must be the best gravy ever. We all agreed that the sticky... More

We had a very tasty meal here again with a work colleague and the food was tasty with stunning beef and ale pie and the best chips I have EVER had! However, we were in the snug which did as it delivered being very snug and the table we were given was way too cramped for 3 people, this is... More

Proper pub with log fires and real ale. A large food menu but didn;t partake as we were eating at the hotel. Staff and locals are very friendly.
