No trip to San Jose Antique is complete without going to Shimozawa. One can never go wrong with their thinly sliced pork with ginger sauce, tempura and sashimi. Please order the lemon ginger iced tea too. Perfect to cap off a wonderful meal! Yum!

Even if the only of his kind in town it is an authentic Japanese with a real Japanese chef. The ebi tempura and tonkatsu were perfect and the price very friendly. The chef and his partner are very nice people. That place deserve a visit......We will be back!More

I am glad we came across this restaurant during our trip to San Jose Antique. The food is freshly cooked and very tasty. The ambiance is relaxed and unassuming and the price is very reasonable. All of us enjoyed our meal Sad i forgot to...try the dessert. Well, for sure there is a next time. :)More

The mixed tempura was good (served hot) and I knew the seafoods were fresh because I didnt develop the allergy I usually get when served otherwise. I hope they will serve maki next time I drop by the province. The chicken teriyaki was ok.

We broke our Ceres bus journey from Culasi to Iloilo in San Jose to find somewhere for lunch. What a treat to find this elegantly simple restaurant. The staff were very helpful in helping us make a selection from the menu. Mixed tempura - light...and full of flavour. Pork steaks cooked in a sweet ginger sauce - sorry I can't remember the name of the dish - was the best cooked meat I have eaten in the Philippines. The Japanese owner/chef is a true craftsman in the kitchen.More

Excellent Food and service was very good. Japanese Chef/maybe the Owner always smiling. The Restaurant is near St. Anthony's College. In between Robinson's Place and Gaisano Mall. Highly Recommended...

Located in a brand new building near St. Antony's College this is the "first" authentic Japanese restaurant in San Jose. Authentic with respect to its chef, who is Japanese. They serve Sashimi, which is dependent on the supply at the local market. I had Tuna...Sashimi and chicken teriyaki, which was well presented and tasty. Miso soup was home made and quite nice. There was no Japanese beer or Sake, only local beer was available. The inside of the restaurant is quite small and there were a couple of tables in front. Parking is limited to about four cars.More
