The Longbow Beefeater restaurant garners a warm reception for its friendly and welcoming atmosphere, particularly when bustling with patrons. Guests have called out the staff's attentiveness and allergy awareness, contributing to a positive dining experience. However, opinions on the service and food vary; some visitors compliment the flavorful dishes and value, while others point out occasional slow service and smaller portion sizes, which has led to a spectrum of reviews.

Booked table via website, arrived at allotted time, were handed menus and taken to our table. All social distancing measures in place, but, wherever you are seated you will have people walking past you to get to their tables. Ordered 10oz ribeye steak, peppercorn sauce, gammon steak platter, 2 pints (disappointed there were no local beers available). Gammon platter came with chips, pineapple, peas, egg, and looked good. The steak came with less chips and the ‘salad’ consisted of an overcooked mushroom and a half an overcooked tomato. Very disappointing seeing as it was around £20. The steak was delicious, and apparently comes with unlimited chips, although not sure how you requested them as once served, our waiter was not to be seen again until we had both finished. Ordered dessert, but, our first choice was not available (would have been nice to have been advised what was not available prior to ordering), 2nd choice was available (triple choc brownies, sticky toffee pudding) - all told this came to over £54, which does not seem value for money considering what was on the plate.

Firstly the young lady on the door appeared to take some pleasure when asking if we'd booked lunch time on a Tuesday when we simply turned up that the restaurant was fully booked? The chap that served us was very nice, helpful too. The prawn starter was mostly lettuce, a dribble of sauce, 6 prawns & a tiny slice of tomato. The chilil con carne was small & perhaps a little dry but quite tasty. The chips & fries were really nice as was the garilc bread. The remainder of the meal was ok. Swift service but too cold in there apparently due to covid regulations? It's comfortable & clean in there & there's parking easily outside.

This was our second visit since the easing of lockdown. The table we were sent to was sticky, the menus looked as though they had been used by another customer, after giving our order another member of staff removed the menus, whereas on the first visit they stayed on the table, I assumed so that we could look at it for the dessert option after our main and meaning less contact with other customers. The prices for the starters have gone up compared to what they were before Covid, they no longer offer unlimited chips and the portion of chips I did get were well overpriced at £3.29 for a small bowl.

Went on family lunch my wife had steak that was more like shoe leather accompanied by cold chips. My mixed grill had hot chips but cold egg mushroom and sausage. The two kids had burgers that looked raw in the middle.no one was very interested in our comments so we paid and left never to return. Very overpriced meals and drinks.

Back in the UK for a few days we stayed in the Premier Inn next door so used this restaurant for our evening meals. The first evening we met five of our family there and were served by a waiter called Rhys. He was brilliant, as well as having us in hysterics the attentive way he looked after us was superb. We enjoyed the evening so much that we drove out of our way to eat there again before flying back. Rhys the waiter was just finishing but saw us and came over for a chat. I thanked him again for making our previous evening so enjoyable and asked him if the owners do staff courses so he can further his career. Mr Beefeater you have found a gem there and you need to nurture him and advance his development. Before he left to go home he told the waitress taking over from him to ‘make sure you look after them’ We are returning to the UK again in a few weeks and will definitely be staying in the Premier Inn because it is next to the restaurant and we will be eating there. And the food ? We couldn’t fault it, great quality, well cooked and plenty of it !

My wife and i Called here for a meal and the menu was much reduced which i'm assuming is down to Covid and I accept that no problem. We opted for the two course for £17.99 option off the Christmas menu and with a lack of works doo's this year we both went for the Christmas dinner. The quality and standard of the food was well below what i would expect, and in fact it reminded me of a school dinner. The mash portion was so small i think it was meant for a baby, the gravy was almost see through it was so thin, parsnips had just about seen the oven and the meat was the thin pre sliced rubbish. If your going to offer a dinner it should be of a far better standard than this. As part of the two courses we opted for the Brownie with Baileys ice Cream - but they didn't have any of that so we had to have plain ice cream. The brownie itself was excellent and it is for that reason and the service from the waiting staff that i have pulled the score up to average. Really disapointed with what we were served and with this being a local restaurant to us i wont be rushing back.

Had a really delicious meal, last night, at the Longbow Beefeater restaurant, in Llantrisant. The food was very well presented, the steak was cooked perfectly and the value for money was good. Our waiter, Rhys, was amazing. He was helpful, polite and professional, but most of all very friendly. Nothing was too much trouble, he could not do enough for us and the other diners in his section. It was a pleasure to be served by him. All in all a very good experience and lovely food with a great atmosphere.

Visited today and was most impressed, great atmosphere and very clean. Our waiter Rhys Williams was such a pleasant, chatty young man and extremely helpful. When I said I was a vegetarian he went out of his way to make sure I had a meal I could enjoy. He is an asset to the restaurant and we hope he serves us again when we visit.

We had lunch here today, the tables are well spaced out, arrows on display to guide customers safely through the restaurant. We had a very friendly & efficient waiter (Mathew L) who made ys feel like valued customers, and nothing was too much to ask of him. The Longbow staff have always been a brilliant team, other Beefeater restaurants should try to learn by their example. Well done Mathew L and the rest of the Longbow staff. We'll see you again soon 🙂

We booked a table for lunch time today, 4/9/21, and on arrival were directed to our table by Chloe, who was really friendly and very hard working. She took our drinks order and then gave us time to browse through the menu. When we had chosen our meals and our order was placed we only had around a 10 minute wait for our meals to be delivered. I had the chicken in bacon with bbq sauce and John had the mixed grill, both beautifully cooked and presented. Compliments yo the Chef, you're doing a first class job 👏👏 we decided on the chocolate torte for dessert.....Wow!!!!😋😋 this is a must have. During our visit, we felt safe and comfortable and would return again. Many Thanks to everyone for the lovely welcome. Keep up the good work guys and stay safe. Alun & John 👍👍👍😉

This was our first visit to this particular branch for over a year. In the past I’ve found it to be so-so, pretty overpriced for what it is but this visit was fantastic. Our server was Rhys W and I have to say he absolutely made our night. What a credit to beefeater he is, he deserves all the progression and pay rises there are. He was so friendly and had us and other tables laughing and smiling all night! He honestly couldn’t do enough for us and the other tables, made sure we were all happy and enjoying our meals. The manager who’s name I didn’t catch was also helpful and friendly. We had a bad experience at beefeater in the past (a different branch) and this certainly blew the other visit out of the water. Due to the help out to eat out there was a reduced menu, but the food quality was really good. The only thing I would say is I wish they would offer at least one other option of steak sauce even on the reduced menu. Food was good, amazing service, nice atmosphere felt quite safe with screens and hand gel in place. Thanks for a great visit.

We started off in the bar where they took our drink orders, when they brought our drinks they then mentions that they had no ice… members of our party would have changed their drink order having known this. After sitting for food none of the staff would ever come over and ask if we needed any drinks we had to wave/ call someone over to take our drink orders. Members of staff would roll their eyes or avoid our table of 10 and Nicole was losing her patience with us and took over an hour to ask for desserts after removing dishes. We felt as though we were pushed to the back where staff could still see us but avoided that area. Drink orders were being messed up and it just seemed like quite an unorganised system, at this point we could see the manager was in the world of his own just standing by the front door and not helping to assist staff. A member of staff who made our experience better was a young boy named Rhys who was happy and joyful and always insured we had everything we needed. Thank you. The only reason we chose to dine here was because or family from London were staying at the Premier Inn, if this was not the case we wouldn’t have and i don’t think we ever will again.

All enjoyed our food and some orders steak and some had the vegan sloppy Joe burger. Vegan burger less cooked that have had before but still nice. Service was very friendly by Lara. Very efficient and helpful. Returned later that week. Vouchers beefeater offer are great, including their club card offer with the points that a family member uses. Dessert menu could be better with more sundaes

This was the first time I’ve been here and can’t remember last time I went to a Beefeater as don’t have one in Bridgend and I don’t drive, but came here with family members who drive and know the place, so was a bit hesitant at first but OMG definitely wasn’t left disappointed. It was a Sunday and been looking for somewhere to eat but most places you’d have to book or wasn’t seating a family of 5 and had to wait, so came here praying we could be seated asap and thank fully we was seated asap. The staff was so polite and lovely, served within minutes even though restaurant by now (1pm) was busy, drinks served by a lovely polite young man. Lovely menu with plenty of good foods to pick from which is good as it’s a Sunday and usually places only do Sunday dinners which ain’t always what people want, but anyways three of us ordered a T-Bone steak Rare, first time for me trying one and I must say it was the best steak I’ve ever tried, was so succulent, melt in your mouth, juicy, flavoursome and rare just like I wanted and should be cooked and for £24.99 you DEFINITELY can’t go wrong. Left with a smile on my face and my belly full. DEFINITELY recommend this place and will visit again. Even though I don’t drive and live in Bridgend can still catch a bus as there’s a bus stop just 5 mins walk from the place at the Royal Glam Hospital.

I eat in lots of Beefeater but I must admit that this was one of the very best for food and service. The whole place was being orchestrated wonderfully by Josh. Nothing was too much trouble. I stayed for two nights and the service and food were excellent on both nights. It is rare when a staff member appears disappointed that they didn’t get to you before someone else - lovely blonde young lady with glasses Fabulous will come back
