Well on my last trip in 2013 I finally found Gove's... More

We popped in here a couple of days ago. I usually avoid fish and chips in Malta because they are invariably poor. This was superb with the fish dipped in the batter before our eyes. The batter was crisp and cooked right through. Fish was chunky and juicy, cooked to perfection with excellent chips. At just €6.50 a portion, this... More

The only take away joint that serves the real fish and chips in Malta! Everything was fresh and prepared there and then for us. Cleanliness and hygiene is assured. The place is in a great location too! The cook was super friendly and chatted with us as if we were family. The decor and sign may appear not too inviting... More

We have been wondering for a few years why there was no traditional fish and chip shop in Malta given the number of English and Australian tourists that visit. Well now there is one, Gove's Place that does top notch English style fish & chips; perfect after a day at one of many Maltas beaches.

Just returned from a trip to Malta and had to write about a small takeaway place we came accross. Goves plaice cooked from fresh the best Fish and Chips I have tasted anywhere outside of the UK. The owner is an ex-pat called Andy who made us feel very welcome. The place was spotless and apart from the Fish and... More

Just came back from there, proper proper Fish and Chips, the way it should be done and it was well good. You wouldn't think much when you look at the place from the street but believe me it's worth a try. Good Lad too behind the counter, dedicated to his work, wish him all the best. If you're around and... More

The fish and chips here are pretty good, and the cook was very friendly. My only complaint would be that they didn't have tartar sauce.
