Not dog friendly on the patio. Lied about Ontario regulations. They allow dogs on outdoor patios. Food is sub par. Don't bother. Go to Totem Lodge with your doggos and skip these losers.

We stopped here for drinks before heading down the road to the Totem Lodge for dinner. Sitting on the patio during this Covid -19 situation was what we wanted and we were easily accommodated. We were slightly surprised by the lack of masks on patrons...coming in and going out, however we were asked our names and addresses for tracking purposes. So, the drinks were cold, the prices reasonable and the view afforded us the entertainment of watching the water traffic and waving to the boaters passing by. A pleasant place for sure.More

Stopped as part of our girls weekend for a drink and a snack. Beautiful view over the water and would be a great spot to spend sometime during summer months. They were getting ready to close for the season so some of the options were...limited but we had good fries and cheesecake.More

We have been going here for years - love the view. We took our family for dinner on Saturday July 27th and sat out on the patio. Several of us ordered the lightly breaded Walleye with potato of the day dinner. It was not good!...The fish was dried out and hard - the potato of the day was French fries - the service was poor. The waitress kept saying “the kitchen was very busy”, but the restaurant was not even half full. The service was extremely slow and very poor. To top it all off we paid over $300.00 for six people. We won’t be returning which is too bad as we have a lot of fond memories of going there over the years.More

We had to take the girls to Sioux Narrows for a little shopping before they got too cranky from looking at fish all day long! Decided to stop for lunch. It is right next to the bridge at Sioux Narrows (I mean right next to...it!) We sat inside at the corner table and had a wonderful view of the lake and the boats and paddle boards coming under the bridge through the narrows. I ordered the jalapeno poppers for an appetizer--stuffed with cream cheese and wrapped in bacon and deep fried--my inner fat kids mouth waters now just thinking about it! For lunch I had the chicken ceasar wrap with fries and they were delicious! Fries are hand cut and there were plenty of them. Everybody enjoyed their lunch--would go back again!More

First time at Big John's last weekend. Went there for lunch, tried the chicken ceasar wrap with a side salad. The chicken they used was really good, perfectly breaded. Also tried the sweet potato fries and poutine, both were delish. Really quick services, had three...plates of food come out in about 10 mins. The waitress was attentive and checked up on us numerous times. After we walked down to the dock and dipped our toes in, which was nice. There were some kids fishing right off the dock at the same time. The views are gorgeous! Headed back there later at night and went to the bar downstairs. Fun little place and again, had great service. The outdoor patio is really nice, would recommend eating down there whenever it's open! Will definitely stop in the next time we drive through town and try their late night taco in a bag!More

We have visited Big John's for years. From the bar (many years ago), to the dining room. The views are amazing, right on the lake. Parking is minimal - 6 small stalls close by and then side of the highway. The service, cleanliness and food...had gone down over the years. New management this year so we were hopeful. Saturday at lunch. We walked in and there was no signage or staff at the front indicating to seat ourself or to wait. Another group was waiting to pay at the front as well, although we found out the cash area had been moved to the back bar area. We took a seat and it was a wait between being greeted with menus, a wait for drinks, and then a wait for food. There were 3 other tables in the restaurant. We didn't receive a bill and were not asked how things were. Unfortunately, the service was just slow, the food was mediocre and prices high. Other than the view, it is too bad this place just doesn't have much going for it anymore.More

We had a very different experience than the previous reviewer. 4 of us came in for supper on the patio. We were greeted as we entered, drinks and dinner were prompt, food was good, service was great. Would repeat.

I have been there twice since the new owners have taken over this year. It's really gone downhill, it takes 30-60 minutes to get your food, mediocre portions, bland food and expensive. You see the new owners around but they don't greet customers or apologize...for the delays. The restaurant was already on a decline and I had really hoped the new owners would have elevated it, unfortunately, they are not. There is another waterfront restaurant to eat at in the community so I expect I will go there from now on. They even have people to greet you at the dock and help tie up your boat.More

We had the pickerel dinner special and it was awesome! Would definitely go again and also told other friends to try it also! The special was a reasonable price, too.

Has gone downhill so fast. Have been coming to Sioux Narrows for years and look forward to our favourite place to eat, but it was such a disappointment. It's filthy, from the dead flies in the windows, the tables sticky from previous patrons, to an...actually debit receipt in one of our drinks. Managements reaction was indifferent with a suggestion to place a bad review on social media. We did not stay for food for fear of food poisioning and who knows what the conditions the kitchen are. Highly not recommended. Hopefully Ontario Health makes a visit to Big Johns soon.More

My husband and I spend a couple of weeks in Sioux Narrows every year to fish. We always look forward to eating at Big Johns and have never been disappointed. If you are looking for a luxury dining experience, keep driving. But if you are...looking for a delicious meal at a reasonable price, this is your place. We always order the walleye dinner which includes a generous portion of walleye perfectly seasoned with the daily fresh vegetable and potato which changes daily. Last night the vegetable and potatoes were a fresh mixed medley of cauliflower, broccoli and carrots and a double baked potato. And of course, we always have to finish with freshly made pie and ice cream. Last night we chose blueberry. Yummy as always. The price was very reasonable. For $80 (Canadian) we got 4 beers, 2 complete walleye dinners with salad (we love the blue cheese dressing) and pie and ice cream. And with service that is prompt and friendly, you can’t beat Big Johns for one of the best meals you will have north of the border. Can’t wait until next year!More

Big John's has been a Sioux Narrows institution for decades. Our family group went in for dinner on a beautiful Sunday night. The menu items with their signature pickerel (which most of us would have ordered) was not available. We were also informed once we...started to order that their credit and debit card service was not available. I know what a cash-only policy usually means. Our meals were average at best. The prep-time was agonizingly slow. Big John's has a million dollar location but it's future I fear is doomed to failure. I have enjoyed Big John's in the past but this was my final visit.More

My wife and I stopped by at the beginning of the season and had a plate of walleye before we had a chance to catch our own. The food was great, as was the service and the view. Worth checking out for sure.
