We went their for our lunch which is very nice food their. The staff were helpful and friendly being polite. The parking is free but don't panic you won't pay it by the pub. The curry club was brilliant as cheerful as a bargain.

Tried the saxon crown, took ages to get served so we came over to the usual... Friday night and the pub was heaving... served quickly and efficiently! Never a fault with this pub, only tried the other wetherspoons Caus a few of us live next to it... I think we'll all stick to this one now!

Lovely staff and great service. Family friendly and good value for money. There is a kids' corner and they were fine about accommodating for dietary needs.

It was a cold dark night when I first entered the Samuel Lloyd. As I took tentative steps through the doorway and shook off the cold weather I was met with a silence from the inside the like of which I had never experienced, the gruff looking man playing piano stopped and regarded me like I was a piece of... Good morrow dear sir, Thankyou for taking time from your epic journey to review our tavern. I would like to apologise for the unwelcoming entrance you had while arriving at our establishment. Billy Bob (the piano player) and sharp tooth (bar server) are currently taking our online training to improve their hospitality while at work. We're glad you enjoyed your... More

Had been stuck in traffic for 5 hours. Staying at the locsl Hampton Hilton hotel. Starving so went to the Wetherspoons. Very light and modern pub. Great selection of beers. Bought 2 beers and soft drink for less than £6. Wuick and friendly service. Had a Empire State Burger. With a pint for £8. Clean and tidy one if the... More

Always along wait to get served, coffee not so good. Last time I went there I was met with a few tables of young boys all in school uniforms drinking pints of lager, I couldn't say if there were of age but did look underage to me and all getting served while in school uniforms. The bar staff all seemed... More

Thankyou for reviewing 'The Samuel Lloyd' I can assure you we have a strict I.D policy in place at the Samuel Lloyd, as do all our wetherspoons pubs. If they were in uniform, the staff would have most certainly asked them for ID on their visit. We also have a variety of ages working within our establishment, but I'm sure... More

As we all know, Wetherspoons are hit or miss but this one was a hit. After eating somewhere else and stopping here for a drink it looked and was very good. So we went here for breakfast as our hotel was a little expensive and even though it was obviously made a little earlier it was really nice. Quick, friendly... More

Had dinner and drinks here with some colleagues whilst staying at local hotel. Food is cheap and cheerful. However they had to come and tell us they had no steaks or coleslaw along with some starters. We weren't offered salads in replacement of some items nothing. Service was slow, really really slow. Staff dropped food on table from plate and... More

Description
It was Samuel Lloyd who began the transformation of Corby, from a sleepy village in Rockingham Forest into a modern, industrial town. Stewart & Lloyds (the successor to Lloyds Ironstone Company) built many of the houses, as well as the school and sports ground in the vicinity of the Wetherspoon pub.The original village of Corby gets its name from 'Kori', the leader of the Danish invaders who settled in a Rockingham Forest clearing. Corby remained a village until the arrival of Samuel Lloyd, in the 1880s, when the new ironstone industry developed to dominate life in Corby, until the closure of the iron and steelworks in 1980.This wetherspoon, opened in July 2008, is completely new and is a gas-free site, it has an extrodinary design to traditional pubs to mark both its individuality, and to tie in with the concept of glass use in the building of some of corbys' landmark sites (cube/swimming pool)
