The location of this restaurant in a main thoroughfare on the way to the Roman Museum is great. The bullfighters posters, bull heads, etc. were interesting but the overall seedy atmosphere of the rooms is not appealing to enjoy the food. The cod carpaccio was good but the accompanying spicy/garlicky shrimp overwhelmed the subtlety of the fish. We were the... More

My husband and I held very fond memories of this restaurant from a visit 6 years ago, so upon our return to Mérida we bypassed every other nice looking restaurant and steered back to Casa Benito. What a disappointment! The salad with partidge that we order for a shared starter was served with very little partidge - and what was... More

Our tour guide recommended this restaurant so we tried it. Had a delicious lunch but very slow service on the terrace. Tables were slow to be cleaned and lots of people smoking. Inside the restaurant was interesting with bull fighting memorabilia. We were told to try ham and were not disappointed.

We were told about this restaurant by a friend, who owns a factory producing iberico ham, and it didn't disappoint. We had several tapas dishes, including peppers stuffed with morcia (Spanish black pudding), and they were all wonderful.

This was truly awful food in the heart of a busy Spanish town. Don't be fooled by people eating there - avoid !

This used to be an emblematic place in Mérida for tapas and beer with friends. With a taurine atmosphere, the walls inside are plenty of photos framed with the personalities of the bull fighting world, I can say it has an atmosphere. I have been here in many ocassions, and probably the worst of all is their service. They are... More

Tapas : a dry piece of very white bread on the top of wich they put very poor elements and they call it tapas. Meet had a weird taste, and everything was approximate. It is like it was a nice place 20 years ago and since then, they never change anything. Prices are quite expensive compared to the other restaurant.... More

Yea, this was pretty lousy for us Anglos. I’m going to try and avoid the obvious comparison but the waiter was arrogant and couldn’t be bothered. No English menu and we forgot our printout. Lots of stuff though with exotic names; must be local specialties. Who knows. It looks a bit seedy and tired and there were a few old... More
