We stopped here after a walk through the old town. This is situated a few steps from the Roman Theatre and I imagine would get pretty busy later in the evenings. We, however were visiting early evening and only a few tables were occupied. Our drinks were nicely chilled and food at other tables looked great. The outside seating also... More

We came here in a very hot day in Merida and sat at the bar for drinks. Ordered a iberico jamon, tuna ratatouille and a secreto grilled pork loin. The latter was quite good especially with the chips. Overall, very cool place to hang out on a hot day in Merida.

Multiple restaurants to choose between. Went to Via de la Tapa because of the reviews. Was a bit disappointed. It was hard to get an English menu (only one in the restaurant) for our group of 8 and we had to spread out as it was very crowded and difficult to find seating. The tapas were average quality, good not... More

This bar is right by the Roman theatre and provides a wide variety of tapas. We ate there several times before feeling we'd exhausted the choice. There is a good variety of drinks too and plenty of room inside if the weather is poor.

We tried here some of tapas for dinner. They were amazing, very tasty and for a good price. Little bit disturbing was, that there is allowed to smoke outside at the tables....

Nicely situated near the Roman theatre. We were the only foreigners there. Nice seating outside and service was good despite the place being packed. There is the normal range of tapas, many with a local flavour. Local cheese and ham was good, as was the migas, solomillo and boletus croquetas. Enough to feed four adults and with a few drinks... Came based on TA reviews but expected it to be a tourist trap as it is right outside the Teatro & Anfiteatro. It was packed with locals (a good sign), whilst the other taperias on the strip were struggling for custom. A simple menu of traditional tapas (no gourmet reinventions here). Food was very good, and well priced. We paid... More
