We are a couple from Vorarlberg and often visit our relatives in Lienz. It is not easy to find a good restaurant, a tip from our friends, FASSLWIRT in the Peggetz. There were five of us. Unfortunately we did not take any photos of these excellent dishes, which were prepared with a lot of love and were very filling. Many thanks to the whole team. We were warmly greeted with a schnapps. We would be happy to go back there on our next visit.

After a bit of a trek on foot in the dark from the campsite, and starting to give up hope of finding it, there it was! We were so glad we didn’t give up.
Lovely food, very nicely presented and moderately priced. Friendly and welcoming staff and customers. Hostess able to translate menu for us, thank goodness. Also, we picked a good night - a local choir were having a birthday party, so we were able to enjoy their lovely singing.We loved the atmosphere.

Last night we visited this restaurant. It is a hidden gem. Run by a husband and wife. We were made very welcome by the host .the menu are in German but the owner speaks very good English and was able to translate for us . The food was amazing cooked to perfection. Presented very well . We had such a relaxing evening with good food and wine we plan to return on our last night in lienz thank you Beate and Egon your food and welcome is fabulous

The Fasslwirt is a new Gasthof - Restaurant, run by a very capable young couple, husband chef, wife runs the service etc. Foodselection very good, not the usual fare but quite creative, presentation of food very attractive. Foodquality very good. At lunchtime serves mostly the people working in the factories around, in the evening a la carte service. Good wine selection.

The Fasslwirt is located in an industrial area and you don't expect a restaurant with this quality, this personal service and the very good value for money there.
