We had a meal last year which was great and decided to stay 2 days on July 9th-10th this year. We had the inn to ourselves and dining room. With all the COVID 19 restrictions in the world, this place should be packed for the...whole summer in regular times We were treated like royalty and food was amazing. We had a kayak guided tour when we arrived and walked to sandy cove and back on the 2nd day. We thank all the staff that made our anniversary such a special occasion and hope to be back soonMore

A stop here is part of each year's travel plans. You just can't beat Chucky's for the best of NL seafood presentations .We enjoyed calamari, cod and scallops as entrees. And we overnighted at one of the available suites, Powell's Cove, and took in as...many of Brenda's new paintings as we could spot on display. No zodiac or kayak this year but we hear Chucky's got a new boat on the way!More

Fabulous seafood and moose burgers and the best sesame dressing for the garden salad. Sadly, because of covid restrictions we had to settle for takeaway. We'd love to return since the dining room looked lovely.

Planned our day hiking around the Eastport peninsula so we could indulge in the delicious fare! Hiking in Salvage, walking the beaches at Eastport and Sandy Cove, and then to be treated by the fine folks of this beautiful spot. Vacations don’t get much better...than this!More

I’ve eaten here a few times while on vacation in Burnside, and every time has been fantastic! It’s nothing fancy, however the view is beautiful and the food is quality. Service is fast and friendly. A few times it was really busy, so I would...recommend calling ahead to make a reservations. They also offer an assortment of outdoor excursions, so go on an adventure and then stay for a yummy lunch!More

We went to happy ... on a whim, we were greeted by the staff, having not made a reservation, Clay was very helpful and was able to accommodate us (highly recommend making reservations by the way). The meal exceeded our expectations and it was a...treat to even see him get our lobster from the wharf. The pecan rum cake at the end was the perfect finish to an amazing meal. We will definitely be coming back for another, and after this experience, try to get a room at the Inn too, the view was beautiful.More

Excellent. My wife and I shared some Cod Tongues and Scrunchinns (sp?) to start – delicious. I had the scallops and my wife had the shrimp. Both were perfectly cooked and simply bursting with flavor. Service was excellent, not intrusive but very personable to provide...that personal touch. Simple excellent! If I could give it a 6 I would. Certainly in the top 3 meals over our 19 day stay on The Rock!More

Definitely classy and delicious. Eating here was a treat. While it is true you need to reserve ahead, you also need to very clearly state your food preferences. We caught them off guard requesting vegetarian food which definitely surprised me in a restaurant of this...calibre, but even so, the cook came through and made a delicious vegetarian curry on the spot. The service was excellent. My only complaint other than prices not being very clear and up front, was that the establishment could benefit by taking more advantage of the view.More

Ordinarily, I try to avoid five-star reviews because they usually strike me as unreal. But there really was nothing that subtracted from the restful and delicious two nights I recently spent in the Inn at Happy Adventure. The staff at the hotel and restaurant were...on top of everything, the room was comfortable with an understated luxury highlighted by the world-class view of Happy Adventure's small harbor not far from Terra Nova National Park, and the local cuisine in the restaurant at breakfast, lunch, and dinner was top-rate. Recommended: seafood chowder, cod tongues, continental breakfast. This small hotel in a far off nook of the world offers a quality of hospitality and personal attention that would allow most anyone to forget whatever is troubling them back home.More

My favorite Fish and Chips has always been at the Duke of Duckworth (a St. John’s must) but I think it’s been unseated by this place. Great staff, great view, and excellent wings too. My partner has the pan fired cod and that was also...excellent. Even the coleslaw, which I usually detest, was amazing as well. They even had my favorite QV beer on tap, iron cherry sour. Total and utter win. Be sure to make a reservation though as they fill up fast.More
