Beautiful setting, although difficult to find. Could use better signage to get to it. Wonderful meal, exceptional view. Worth the drive, but be sure to reserve…it was busy!

My husband and I were travelling on a very hot day, and we had run out of water. We are seniors, and this could be dangerous. We stopped at the Bonavista Social Club. We explained to the server that we only wanted to buy something...cold to drink and would leave shortly. The server would not serve us !! She said she could not, because we did not have a reservation. This is so unlike Newfoundland hospitality !More
It was a great surprise in the road. The best! We loved the vibe and the food equally. Its located in a fantastic spot, yet even more fantastic is the family who owns it. We loved their story, their food, the life philosophy. We live...in a very far off place and have a lodge and restaurant, they were certainly an inspiration for us.More
It take a Kurtheatern drive out if Bonavista to thus location. When you find it, you will love it t! It is taking no reservations.Which is good. First come-first service! Family owned business. Fine pizza! Good service!
Very warm and welcoming place. Great homemade food... and what a view! A must when visiting Bonavista!
Palace was recommended to us, a bit har to find worth the trip. We had the pizza it was good, however I regretted not having ordered the salad when I saw it delivered to another guests table it looked delicious and sounded like green from...their own garden. Yum. We did have the partridge berry bread pudding, not really a bread pudding fan but this was delicious. Served with a Carmel sauce and a small side of ice cream. Perfect!More
Slightly out of the way restaurant usually attracts a crowd because of its well-earned reputation for great food. Nice location at Newman's Cove/Upper Amherst Cove NL, not that far from Bonavista. Really nice view, especially from the covered deck, which looks out onto Wolf Cove...on the Atlantic. The menu changes daily and has appies, pasta, burgers, custom choice pizza and desserts. There is a garden out front that grows herbs and vegetables that are used fresh in the menu. We had pizza, super fresh and perfect. A memorable and excellent dinner.More
This restaurant is a little off the beaten path but so worth the drive. We ordered the pizza & caesar salad & topped it off with the partridge berry bread pudding...DELICIOUS!! The view of the water is spectacular from the “porch” dining area. It’s all...definitely worth the trip!!!More
Searching for a coffee followed the signs to the Bonavista Social Club and so glad we did. Food was several steps above all the other places we ate at in Newfoundland. Can highly recommend the rhubarb lemonade, pizzas and the tomato chowder. Good gluten free...options including pizza bases.More
I am so reluctant to give this place a poor rating because I am hoping that our visit might have been an anomaly. But.. we drove all the way from Bonavista, understanding that there would be an hour wait time, maybe a bit longer. Once...we managed to get our name on the list, we were told about an hour so cheerfully ordered a beer. After about 45 minutes we decided to follow up on that beer, but waited another 15 minutes for that. We were finally seated for food after about 90 minutes. The server took our order fairly promptly but we waited about another hour until the pizza arrived. We had long finished our beer but were not asked if we wanted anything to drink with our food. The entire experience was a gong show: no semblance of order front of house, servers rushing around, mass confusion. Our bill, when it finally arrived, was a mess. What a shame. The location is magical, views to die for, a very cool room and hip vibe. I'm giving a rating of 3 because I truly believe that the staff were super nice and doing their best, and the pizzas were great. Also disappointed Was that your widely acclaimed moose burger was not on the menu that day. This was on the Sunday evening of the long weekend, did you just get slammed and got in the weeds? That would be an explanation but not an excuse. I really do wish you well.More
What a brilliant find. On a drive around the local area we chanced across this gem. Originally calling in just for coffee we quickly realised that we had stumbled across a great place to eat. They grow their own vegetables. The bread is baked on...the premisis. The pizzas were great, as was the soup and carrot cake. The rhubarb lemonade very good too. We loved it. The view was also sensational.More
After a day of hiking we happened upon this place. A wood burning fire pizza joint in the middle of no where with a fantastic view! The pizza was good but not great. I've had better and worse. The view made up for everything else....The waitresses were friendly but the people behind the counter all looked miserable. I understand why its expensive as its an island and everything has to be shipped in but I didn't feel as some in these reviews, that the toppings were sparse except the basil. The cheese was overflowing which I like. I do think its worth the drive to sit and enjoy the view. Split a pizza if its too expensive for you but do enjoy the view.More
While we loved our wood-fired oven pizza, we’re glad we saved half to take with us because the desserts were to die for!
With a name like this, who would think this is a ‘must do’ dinner destination in NL and not some Cuban band? It is located in a tiny village overlooking a small cove on the eastern shores of NL. There is a limited menu, but...everything is fresh and locally and seasonally sourced. And boy can you taste the difference. Thin crust pizza (wood fired), moose burgers, pasta...yum. You may have to wait to get a seat as they do not take reservations. But I promise you, it is worth the wait. When you come down this hill on the road in, you first wonder ‘where the heck is this place?’ No worries. The large number of vehicles will point you in the right direction. GO!!!More
This is one of our favorite spots to eat when we come to Bonavista. The food is amazingly fresh and delicious and the homemade bread is beyond yummy! The garden out front is the biggest clue. The view from almost any table is as good...as it gets! DO NOT skip dessert- the bread pudding was beyond words!More
