The Kitchen Witch is located in an historic two-room schoolhouse built in 1832.The school building has been lovingly restored to authentic 19th Century decor. It features the original hardwood floors, trim and wainscotting throughout as well as gorgeous double-hung paned windows which admit lots of natural light and a breathtaking view. Beautifully decorated, it features antique wooden tables and pressback chairs, lovely wallcoverings and window treatments and vintage prints.Established in 1980, The Kitchen Witch Tea Room developed a tremendously loyal clientele of repeat customers, comprising both summer visitors and local residents. It has offered a tempting menu of sandwiches served on home-baked

Visited for the first time today with my family. We are gluten free and my son is gluten egg and dairy free No problem ordering for him and they were very knowledgeable about his dietary restrictions. I felt confident letting him eat there which I...can't say for many places. I had vegan tamales which were so different that I've ever had and flavourful! My son had gluten free vegan garlic cheese fingers. He ate them all and he even got a dessert! We were all satisfied and the price and portions were perfect. I did feel a bit claustrophobic as there are a lot of old knick knacks and stuff and an overcrowded gift shop but it does make it a unique and quirky place. The owner was so nice and pleasant and pei is very lucky to have people that can cook like this!More

My friends and I went for a visit to PEI and, being celiac, my eating options were limited. I found out about the kitchen witch and was pleasantly surprised by the experience! It was above and beyond what I was expecting. Not only was the...food absolutely phenomenal (The french toast was dreamy), but the atmosphere and the service stood out. The owner was one of the kindest people I have met and truly goes out of her way to make your lunch a wonderful experience. I know I will be back many times!More

Such a memorable experience! Wow. We came here for lunch, and there were a few vegetarian / vegan options on the menu. I had the vegetarian poutine, and although it wasn’t to my taste, I am glad to have tried! The lady owner was very...friendly and there are HEAPS of jams and preserves available for purchase. Very affordable and very yummy. We bought a few. Loved the idea of the games at each table. Probably could have done without the “live entertainment “ at lunch, as it was right in our ear. But.... it all added to the memorable experience.More

What a delightful spot to come across, the most amazingly delicious food and the owner was delightful. We didn't have a chance to have our leaves read but we will definitely be back in the very near future!!

I came from Montreal and visit this place 6 years ago and fell in love ❤ Now I moved to Pei I make sure to go as many times as possible. This is a great family own restaurant. The food is delicious. Nothing fried.Made with local...ingredients. THERE IS NO GLUTEN OPTION AND THE FOOD IS AMAZING. The food is so comforting and delicious . You can enjoy and relax by seeing the sight.Looking everywhere in the restaurant. There is craft hanging in the windows and a cute boutique were you can buy preserves ,tea in leaves and souvenirs. You can have a tea cup reading to add fun to your visit certain days. The owner always welcome you with a smile even if they work extremely hard. If you dont stop, you are missing something. You need time to enjoy your experience ❤❤More

Unbelievably friendly! Food was fantastic!!! It was a tea lover’s dream with lots of options, including bags, loose leaf, and blooming! We had lunch and our tea leaves read. The readings were quite fun and accurate! Debbie, one of the owners, sat down and plotted...out a map for us for places we could go on our trip to PEI. She even called in her daughter to help us navigate traffic and construction. 100% recommend; will come back upon return to PEIMore

My husband and I were staying near this old school turned restaurant. We walked through a gift area that had many shelves of can goods to the dining room that had walls covered with collectable items and signs. There was a sofa their also. Quirky...and friendly we decided on the witch special of the Island ham and cheese panini with homemade mustard relish. This relish won the owner a blue ribbon in the local festival. It was very good and I purchased some as a gift. Some people were getting their tea leaves read but I decided to forgo this even though others seemed to enjoy the entertainment.More

If you're in a hurry or want a cookie-cutter experience, don't stop here; but if you enjoy atmosphere, good homemade food, and interesting characters (plus hundreds of different teas--bagged and loose) then this is your place. The 2 public rooms are packed, and I mean...PACKED floor-to-ceiling, front-to-back, side-to-side with collections of anything you can think of and a few you may not have considered. Ask Deb about the Olympic torch. Kind of like being at great-aunt Bessie's with all the family momentoes on display. Tea was great (hard to pick just one--most extensive list I have ever seen--beats the big-city chains by far!). Our lunch items were both delicious, part familiar, part a personal twist by the cook. You'll want to buy some of the homemade preserves to take home too. As for the tea-leaf reading, I had it done even though I am a non-convert, and all I can say is WOW! I don't know who the previous reviewer had, but my non-singing Tasseologist was very accurate and insightful--and I was very careful not to talk about any aspect of myself from the moment I entered the Tea House so as not to give any hints. I'm a people-watcher by habit and by profession, and this place was fascinating. Give it a try, unless you are very straight-laced and unable to relax.More

I have been going to the Kitchen Witch for years and it is a must every year in PEI however this year I was disappointed not with the service, food or friendly owners but with the tea leaf reader...This year the "reader" was terrible....I'm aware...that the readings are for fun but "fun" is the key word. She spoke mainly about herself , at times felt like she was "preaching" and completely lost me.. was the worst ever, as well this lady also sings which was annoying. So this year thumbs down for the kitchen witch as possibly for years to come if the same "reader" is there. Oh by the way I spoke to other ppl I know whom all said the same thing.More
