The service was great and the food was fresh and delicious. My family (4 of us) all were extremely satisfied with our meals. The only complaint was how busy it was, but you can't really fault a restaurant for that.

Best restaurant on PEI!!! Food is amazing.staff are super friendly. The wait times can be long but go early and if you have to wait, take a walk on the beach or boardwalk

We visited this spot twice on our recent trip to PEI. We found the atmosphere fun, the views nice, and the food was great!

Before I forget: be sure to try the 7 nut pie. I'm not usually a dessert person. Our waitress sold it. It's like pecan pie except it has 7 different kinds of nuts. Very unusual and absolutely delicious. Main meal was seafood chowder and an...order of mussels. Excellent. Some of the best of my 10 day multi-province trip. On several days, I had the seafood chowder and an order of mussels for both lunch and dinner, so I got to be fairly discerning.More

We loved our meal here! It was a beautiful night- sun setting. It smells delicious as you enter. We enjoyed mussels to share, fish tacos, chicken and bacon pasta, seafood chowder poutine as well as some alcoholic beverages. The setting is beautiful, staff friendly, service...nicely timed. We enjoyed the MacAusland lap blankets and portable heaters to take the chill off! I have been here before but wait times too long- this time of year was perfect to visit! No waits! Though now I know it is definitely worth the wait!More

Food was pretty good. Service ok - had to ask multiple time’s times for some items; never did get one coffee. The “wait list” system in lieu of reservations was annoying - we arrived on time, had to wait 1/2 hour in our car or...on a windy cold deck even though there was a bar inside that looked empty. We’ll not be returning.More

We were very impressed with the positive reviews for Blue Mussels Cafe. We were in search of PEI fresh oysters and indeed the restaurant did not disappoint in that regards. The website implied that wait times for tables could be long, so we arrived at...an early hour (5:00 pm) and had no wait time and were seated in our preferred seating outside. After being seated by the hostess, we were unattended for a good 12-15 minutes as we reviewed the menu. The wait person then came with water glasses and a chilled bottle of water, and was very friendly and informative about the menu. We ordered and waited for about an hour after being seated for our fresh oyster appetizers. Others around us who were seated after we were seated seemed to receive their appetizers before we did. One of these tables seated after us were served their oyster appetizers 30 minutes before ours were served. We then waited another half hour for our entrees. Both entrees were seafood and were beautifully presented and delicious, but one plate that consisted of seared tuna, beets and quinoa was served cold. We enjoyed the flavors and the congenial wait staff, but the wait time and the price of the meal was too long and too high respectively for the experience.More

Went early and got a table right away. Nice view, some outdoor seating. We shared the mussels which were very good and then shared the seacuterie. The plate was large and had lots of cheese, relish, the usual, accompanied with toasted bread which they replenished....The items went well with each other. The one negative was that this being a charcuterie board which featured smoked fish, there was very little fish and one piece of the mackerel was all bones and fin.More

We joined the online waitlist and it gave us an estimate of 11-30min. It is very convenient and easy to use, gives live views of list to see where you are on the list. But we waited 1h15min for our table. It was a cold...night and had rained, we spent our time walking down nearby boardwalk which was lovely but it was nice to finally get in. Host was very apologetic, said on cold nights people often linger a long time, order tea etc so hard to clear a table. It was nice to be able to see where we were on list, but be aware the time estimate may not be accurate. Also the restaurant is an enclosed patio, it has heaters and they give you a blanket but I ate with my down vest on - if it’s a chilly night, dress warmly! But the food was worth the wait! We had fresh oysters and tuna tartare to start and a Caesar with an oyster to drink. I had the bubbly bake which was soooo good on a cold night. My dad had the lobster thermidore which was Delicious. We had blueberry strudel for dessert, which was tasty but a small portion. I’d come back for sure.More

We had an early dinner at the Blue Mussel. Highly recommend. Were able to get seated right away. Had an outside high top table overlooking the North Rustica Harbour, very nice view. Tried to sample as much off the menu as we could. Had the...Lobster dip and oysters to start. Oyster Dip is a must. I had the Pan Fired Haddock, better than I imagined. The s[icong of the haddock was amazing. Needed to pick up a package of the spice mixture to use with pan fried fish at home. My wife had the Bubbly Seafood Bake, full of seafood and very creamy. Might recommend not combining the Lobster Dip and the Bubbly Bake together. Both are very good, but you could find them being quite heavy. Fortunately, my wife and I shared everything to get a broader sampling and it wasn't a problem. Consider using the online waitlist to avoid long waits. We kept tabs on the waitlist as we toured the central coastline.More

This waitlist system is a joke. No problem sending a dozen reminders about your check-in time, but they can’t send a single notification they are running 45 minutes late. So you show up on time only to be told you should wait in your car...until receiving a notification your table is ready. Alternatively you could be herded into a tunnel with the precaution it is a fire exit. Fast forward 1/2 a hour and you are “greeted” by a number of staff coming to the check in desk. Not a single acknowledgement you are waiting or an indication of how long it will take to be seated. Treated like you were an inconvenience for daring to wait for your table. Too late for a good first impression but once seated Kelly saved the day. Great, cheerful server. Food was excellent as well.More

We went for lunch and had the haddock and potato wedges and halibut tacos. There was no wait on the day and time that we went. That in itself was surprising given that there is almost always a wait. The food was terrible. My haddock...was over seasoned to the extent that I scraped it off to eat the small piece that was provided. The potato wedges were black, a few pieces not good and they had no taste. My husband had the tacos which had too much sauce making them very runny…dripping. Very small pieces of fish. We had been to Blue Mussel a few years ago when we felt that the food was very good and the price reasonable. Not this time. We will not be returning.More

Stopped in for lunch with friends, wait time was 20 min so we strolled around the docks and enjoyed viewing the heron’s. We chose to sit outside on the patio and we all ordered the seafood chowder as an appetizer and it was delicious. The...halibut taco’s were fresh and also tasted amazing.More

Some places get it all right. Friendly, efficient staff, great oysters, mussels, lobster, dessert, and a postcard-cute dining room. We arrived and had a short wait, which allowed us to enjoy a divine Shuckin Caesar. Our waitress and food were excellent, and even the bathrooms...were excellent! Go.More

Yep, the entrance is wheelchair accessible but there is a 8 in step up into the washroom area but the washrooms unfortunately, are not large enough to be wheelchair accessible.
