Excellent lunch stop. Reasonable prices, great food. Lobster roll had plenty of meat, fries were crisp & greaseless. Seafood chowder was excellent, plenty of seafood. The scallops were melt in your mouth tender. Enjoyed the cook/wait staff, very friendly. Highly recommend it.

Funky old local restaurant. The owner/operator has been having supply chain issues since COVID and they're not helped by inflation. So some items are not as good as they used to be. But the fish is fresh, local, well prepared and very tasty. We had seafood chowder, haddock and scallops (huge!). All were delicious. Senior & daily specials.

This restaurant was recommended for its seafood, and did not disappoint! Portions are large, and delicious. We had the fried clams, which were the best we’ve had in the area. The hot lobster sandwich was piled high with lobster meat and was delicious. The grilled halibut was good, but in my opinion, fresh fish is best cooked in a way that preserves its moisture. The wine list consists of red or white, and beer comes in bottles. This is not fine dining, but is an excellent choice for homemade fresh seafood. Our server was fun and friendly. Service isn’t quick, however, as the food is prepared from scratch.

Best cold lobster sandwich I’ve ever had. In fact it was so good, I pigged out and ordered a second one

Great place for Maritime food, especially seafood. Run by hard working local people. Have the halibut special if they have it. Also best chicken wings ever. Beautiful drive from either Yarmouth or Arcadia. If you have time and it's a nice day, drive down to Chebogue point - lovely views! As of August 2019, they only accept cash payment.

Three of us had Hot Lobster sandwiches (lobster with cream and butter on fresh bread) and it was absolutely delicious and came with fries or mashed potatoes. One had fried clams - again piled high and delicious (we all got to try some because there was a generous portion). One had the Halibut special which was also great. Someone at another table ordered the salt fish (finnan Haddie as we call it) and were raving about it. Yes It’s slow service so don’t be in a rush but well worth it. Will go back for sure. (lots of non seafood dishes on the menu avail too)

While visiting Yarmouth, we went to this restaurant which is outside the town of Yarmouth. Some old reviews commented on slow service, and it was a surprise to also encounter a very slow service for our family of six. Speaking with our server, we felt bad as we could see she was alone to wait on customers, clean tables, and work the cash register. Apparently, it has been hard to find workers in the area. So at no faulty of her, she was doing the best she could do. Most of us ordered the fried clams & fries($18.25). My wife had the fish and chips ($13). Both clams and fish were fresh and everyone got a large serving. Definitely good items to order. My daughter got the poutine, which I would avoid. No curds but did have shredded cheese. But the gravy had a familiar taste of something that might be used with a turkey dinner. Not so great with poutine. If you are wanting a good order of clams and are willing to wait a loner that normal time for a meal, this is a good choice of restaurants./

The drive from Yarmouth down Chebogue Point is gorgeous on a sunny day, with views of Yarmouth Light, Green Island and Gannet Rock. They prepare seafood especially well; but their chicken wings are also some of the best on the planet. Friendly service and ample portions. Be sure to check the specials board!

Food was okay, nothing special, just average. Was very disappointed to see plastic disposable cups. Not a fan of plastic tumblers to begin with but understand with the cost/breakage of glass, but these were disposables, not a good choice when we should be more environmentally friendly, plus the fact my meal alone was $28 including tip and I am drinking out of a cup as if I were camping. Menu is hard to read with stickers over old prices, and the pen marks on the stickers have faded. With stickers for updated prices I would also wonder how often the menus are washed, as it would be hard to with the stickers on them. Parking is a huge issue, and the rusted sign that has fallen down and has been lying there for some time maybe could be hauled away? One plus is there is a very nice view of the ocean and lighthouse.

The menus have so many updates in stickers it is almost hard to read. Only 1 waitress serving the 3 rooms. Parking lot too small and full and had to park on road which has narrow shoulder. The Decore is outdated.. water/drinks were served in disposable plastic cups, which is terrible for the environment (not sure if this is common practice or an exception).
The seafood chowder was exceptional, packed with seafood, delicious, and perfect temperature.

This is our favorite place for seafood and it is a place if you are in a hurry you may want to skip but with one cook and usually one server they do great. People who complain may not be enjoying the company of the people they are with

We have made the Windlass a regular stop for fish and chips. Service is prompt and friendly. Fish is fresh and done in a light crispy batter. Out of the back is a view over Kelly's Cove and the Yarmouth Lighthouse that is always changing. Prices are reasonable and portions generous.
