We had dinner here 3 times and breakfast twice while staying a week at the Fairmont. The service was good each time, but the food was inconsistent and EXPENSIVE. The ahi entree was bland. The mahi-mahi special looked artistic, but was overwhelmed by the sauce....The best entree was the filet mignon. The sunset was spectacular each time... That’s why you go there!More

We dined tonight at Browns Beach. We wondered how we could get a sunset reservation 30 minutes before we arrived. We had our answer after dining there. We started with the prawn appetizer which was just ok but not a high quality of fresh shellfish....While my Mai Tai was ok, the pule nomi lacked any flavor. Generally tasted like weak sherry with a bit of gin. For our main course I had Konpachi which while being a sustainable fish harvest which is great, had a horrible fishy smell. The accompanying sauce was way too sweet. On the plus side, my spouse liked her venison and had a very good variety of vegetables and the coffee sauce was excellent. Service was spotty, attentive at times, and non-existent at others. The setting is awesome, especially at sunset but the quality of the entree’s needs an upgrade.More

Glad Brown's stays open during pandemic times. Awesome setting and service as always. Cocktails were great, especially Cosmo special. Some dishes were fantastic (one of the fish specials, also mushrooms), others not so much (duck was way too salty). More reservation availability than other restaurants...in the area.More

Setting- outdoors ar the fairmont hotel . Tables spaced fairly far apart from each other . Casually elegant . Service- friendly , attentive . The food - good but not super wow . The best dish was probably the prawns appetizer- each prawn was huge...and cooked perfectly . I had the kampachi fish dish for main - it was quite nice but not too special . My partner had the steak - I sampled a bit of it and I thought it wasn’t as good as some other steaks I’ve had recently ... Overall pleasant and nice . The food was overall good but not totally too notched...More

Beautiful location in the Fairmont Orchid Hotel property. The dining with the tiki torches, stunning sunset, and almost on the beach was delightful. The beach salad and the watermelon salad we're really unique. And the pork belly and shrimp excellent. Make sure to take advantage...of the daily Fairmont cosmopolitan, it was delicious! And when you first sit down and they serve their bread and it's to die for, you know it's going to be a good restaurant.More

We decided to splurge on our last night in Hawaii. Browns beach house was the perfect ending. Beautiful location, right on the water, great service and food. We shared the watermelon salad, and I had tempura ahi which was great, my husband had crab crusted...kampachi. Everything was perfect!More

In 8 days, we had dinner at Brown's Beach House three times and can highly recommend the food, service and view. Service was outstanding, food beautifully presented and had great flavor. The view and sound of the waves certainly made for a great evening. Try...the Kampachi, Coffee Venison, and Lava Ice Cream Pie. While staying at the Fairmont Orchid, we also had many a breakfast with the same outstanding service.More

We had a nice dinner here. It was not quite life changing but it was life confirming. I do recommend it.

My husband and I had dinner at Brown's Beach House on our last night on the Island of Hawaii, and it ended up being our favorite dinner of our trip! We started our meal two fruity cocktails, which were delicious and refreshing, while still being...appropriately strong. Bread and accompaniments were brought out shortly after we were seated. We started our meal a soup special and the pork belly, both of which were delicious. I had filet mignon for dinner, which was cooked perfectly with an excellent sauce and accompanied by tasty mashed potatoes and vegetables. My husband had a duck entree, which he enjoyed. For dessert, we had chocolate martinis and shared two chocolate desserts that were recommended by our waitress. They were amazing! Everything we had was beautiful presented as well. The atmosphere was so peaceful and romantic. We had a table right on the edge of the seating area where we could see the torches and listen to the waves crashing nearby. The service was friendly, helpful, and timely. The price was reasonable for fine dining. I would definitely recommend Brown's Beach House if you're visiting the Island of Hawaii!More

W other a tour group and we wanted a nice place to eat. Being on the ocean we saw a beautiful sunset. I ordered heart of palm bisque with pancetta and duck breast with Swiss chard and root vegetables. Delicious and beautifully plated. My husband...ordered the special fish of the day and shrimp. We were not diasappointed. We had a choice of desserts and I got macadamia nut ice cream. We plan to go back again in a couple days.More

I called. $25.00 corkage fee if you bring your own bottle but it has to be something they do not offer on their wine list. Just thought I would write in case anyone else was wondering! Thanks!
