Excellent gluten free choices, decent variety of menu and very friendly service. A decent wine and bar selection and high quality food. Well done--as someone who is not usually a fan of gluten free food--this place meets the need for those who are GF and...still pleases those who are notMore

Hi James, So glad that you enjoyed your experience with us at Crystanys. We strife to support those who can’t eat gluten and we strife to educate those who can consume gluten, just how good our food is without gluten. Hope to see you soon.

I'm not usually one to enjoy gluten free menu's, but this restaurant has definitely changed my mind! The rooftop patio offers beautiful views of the river and surrounding farmland. The menu offers great selections and the food is great! We had mains of fish &...chips and fish cakes! My partner upgraded her side to a specialty salad while i enjoyed some of the best fries I've ever had! My fish was battered & cooked perfectly! Her fish cakes were, hands down, the best we've ever had! For dessert we split a lemon-blueberry cheesecake and a unique variation of a Nanaimo bar! Again, this gluten-loving guy was surprised with how tasty both were! On top of it all our server was so wonderful! Polite, up-beat and very happy! Savannah (Owner/Manager) introduced herself and was so passionate about her restaurant! We will certainly be returning!More

Went here with my entire family. Sat upstairs. The benefits of my celiac daughter being able to order off the menu with no worries of Gluten cannot be overstated. The best part is that everyone else has a GF meal and it was all excellent....Lovely service and a good selection of local beer and wine. Everything from Apps to desserts was great.More

Stopped here for lunch on our way to Coffill’s auto garage. The restaurant is very clean and bright. Great ambiance. Very cozy. I had fish and chips and my husband had mushroom soup and the burger. Everything was very good. The coleslaw was tasty. The...batter on the fish was light and tasty. Not greasy! The fries were nicely done. Cut in house! The mushroom soup was very mushroomy but great. The burger was deliciously messy. Had butter rum cheesecake. Excellent! Not too sweet. We will eat here again.More

This is the first totally gluten free restaurant in Canada. The food was excellent, you couldn't tell the difference from regular food and the price was comparable to regular restaurants. A small little place with great staff and decor.

So glad that you enjoyed your time with us. Did the front of the house give you a tour upstairs. It is my favourite area, outside of the roof top patio. Looking forward to your next visit. Crystal

Crystany's brasserie is 100% gluten free. The roasted vegetable salad was amazingly delicious. The pasta was over cooked but tasty. The dessert was delicious, I had pumpkin cheesecake. I also tried the apple pie donut - this is beyond good.. Friendly service, great food

I loved this place. Weather was good so we sat on the back deck overlooking the river. Service was friendly and efficient and the food delicious. Whole restaurant is gluten free and they also have several vegan items on the menu. I'm only sorry that...we didn't eat here again. Definitely recommend.More

If you prefer puffy, oily, mass-produced pizza-chain crusts, then this is not the restaurant for you. We don't have allergies, but gluten-free recipes often give us pleasant surprises and this was the case at Crystany's. With their crisp, thin crust is made using cauliflower (not...sure how.) We topped our pizza with ham, cheese and crispy kale and enjoyed every bite. The fresh salad and appetizer chicken enchilada soup were wonderful, service was very friendly and they even had live music. Crystany's uses locally-sourced ingredients, which means fresh flavors and support for the local community. Especially as non-Canadian visitors, we find that is an added, admirable bonus.More

Having read reviews on this site we looked forward to eating here. I don't think I have ever had an experience like this There were 4 in our party. The waiter appeared confused as to what the choice of sides to my order and that...of my friend. We ordered the pulled pork sandwich which should have according to the manual included baked beans and coleslaw. These switches themselves although small were very tasty, the Cesar saladside did not have a cesar dressing but was fresh . My partner ordered the burger with fries. The fries were soggy yet dark brown as if over cooked. That was a shot glass size ground coleslaw mixture accompanying it. The burger although on th small size was ok. My friend husba d ordered the fish and chips. The plate should never have been allowed out if the kitchen. The batter was actually burned on one piece of fish a d soggy on the other I have never seen a more unappetizing colour and thought it had been cooked in a strange flour . The fries were The same horrible colour. I can u understand if there is in a busy restraint something gets burned. If they had nearly cooked a second serving we would have been none the wiser. Who to fault the waiter who served it or the cook who cooked it? I tasted the fries and the colour was due to the oil they were cooked in I think as I doubt it has ever been changed. In my 72 years I have never had such a bad experience. No remedy was offered other than the waiter was sorry our friend didn't enjoy his fish. Seriously.. perhaps our displeasure was too quiet. When it the manager at the bed and breakfast we were staying at simply said when asked about the restraint was that the food was ok averageMore
