We spent two nights at this lovely location which offers a number of different accommodation choices. There were rooms in each of two [almost] adjacent buildings; flat[s] and self catering cottage[s]. We were celebrating a special birthday for one of the family and enjoyed breakfast as well as meals. Staff was very helpful and obliging. If there was a problem,... More

Thank you for the wonderful review, and we hope you will return. We are a traditional 16th century couching inn, we are grade two listed so a lift would be an impossibility on numerous accounts but we have installed disabled toilets where possible (at the Paper Mill Inn) to attempt to make our pubs as accessable as we can. All... More

We both had 10oz Sirloin steaks, very nicely cooked and excellent tasty with chunky chips mushroom and peas. Was very good shame we had no room for desert.

First time visited with family who have been before, first impression good bar and atmosphere, food very food, had the scallops while family had the roast, no complaints from food.. Only disapointment was the service from inexperienced staff, also four of us stuck on a very small table which in my opinion was only good enough for two to dine... More

the old hall is a charming old pub set in the Derbyshire countryside, and about a 15 minute walk from chinley railway station, unless you drive. they always have a great choice of ales, mainly sourced from the local area. when I went, they had three top ales on from the abbeydale brewery. we only sampled sandwiches from the lunchtime... We stayed one night at the pub with bed and breakfast and one night in their air b and b cottage seconds up the road. Everyone was very friendly and welcoming. The rooms were lovely and the breakfast menu was wide and delicious. Excellent for vegetarian breakfast. We had one dinner there too. Equally delicious. Unsurprisingly it's popular so dinner... We had a great Saturday evening with great beers, interesting gin and wines and quality food. The pub was heaving so booking is a must. Likewise, if you want to enjoy the house speciality of steak and ale pudding, you need to reserve this when you book your table. Our food was top quality for a pub fare. The beers... More

My husband and I were passing through the beautiful Peak District on route from seeing family in Yorkshire to home in London. We had a wonderfully friendly welcome, a fantastic couple of pints of the pale ale, delicious supper and an all round good old fashioned great pubby time. My supper of pork belly and veg was very well done... More

Description
We are proud of our reputation for great local ales and have an amazing regular following, who are not only responsible for the wonderfull lively atmosphere you will find at the Old Hall, but also for allowing such an extensive selection of traditional hand pulled cask ales and ciders to be offered. We offer a home cooked menu, using local produce, with a restaurant that extends into the Old Hall itself, complete with Elizabethan Minstrels Gallery.
