We visited Rifugio Bruno Pomilio when we went trekking to La Tavola dei Briganti. It had a very clean bathroom as well as some snacks to grab. It is the starting point for many tracking courses so it was pretty busy in the morning.

We visited the top of the mountain by car whilst it was still possible to do so to show the kids some snow and came across this small cafe by accident. We had a large group and ordered hot chocolates and coffees which were great...and the service was really first class. Definitely worth a try if you’re visiting close by.More

I was staying at the Rifugio Pomilio before and after an excursion to the highest mountain of Majella, Monte Amaro. The accommodation is simple but very clean and peaceful. The food is made by simple recipes from local traditions and it is what you need...after a hard and long hike. The prices are more than reasonable and I highly recommend the place.More

This refuge (a basic hotel and bar/restaurant for hikers and skiers) is in a superb location with breathtaking views to the coast and across the Majella mountains. It is at the start of the track to “Blockhaus”, one of the best in the Majella (easy,...but you can go much further). The accommodation is basic (bunk beds and shared bathrooms) but very clean and well maintained, and we also ate both lunch and dinner in the restaurant - and (especially given the remote location) we ate well. The staff are very friendly. Recommended for anyone exploring the Majella National Park.More

On my trips to Abruzzo I have driven to the bottom of the ski fields many times, I had no idea that it is possible to drive up to the radio masts and enjoy a coffee in the Rifugio. The staff were welcoming and spoke...perfect English. When I asked what times of the year they were open I was astounded to be told all year, every day. I look forward to my next trip where I will take the opportunity to enjoy a meal and more great coffee in such a spectacular setting.More
