After a long day walking we stopped into The Penguin for a very late lunch. We were greeted warmly and told we were a tad early for dinner but pizza was on the menu. We didn't complain! Great bar and friendly staff here. Along with a good range of beer, cider etc plus what looks like a good menu. The... More

We ate at the Penguin cafe one night after a long day of hiking the Abel Tasman. Fish and chips were on special that night and at $14 was the best value meal of our entire trip. Our meal was great, the staff was friendly and the beer was cold. What more could you ask for!?

Great tastes - snapper, salmon and fish burger. Crunch6 cjips. Very poor service - pre-booked, told they will move us inside if it is raining. Arrived on time, teaming with rain and no table available except high stools. Table came free after food ordered. Lovely polite staff but no-one came to ask if we wanted another drink. Had to get... We stopped in for lunch, a party of 5 adults and 3 children. The location and out door seating is great, nice smiles from the staff and that's where the good bits end. Expensive menu for pub type meals! It was impossible for me to put down $30 for lunch when it wasn't even an exciting menu. My dad had... More

Lovely setting, great company and nice cold beer, although thought $25 for 3 drinks a bit rich! Staff were helpful and patient whilst we made our drink choices

In fairness, I only had a bar snack with drink, so rating only based on a very simple order. Snack seemed like a standard frozen seafood mix deep fried. Was hungry so ate it all. Nice friendly bar staff though.

Very yummy 😁 Good prices. Great view. Went a couple of times and would certainly go back. We had the Prawn cocktail with garlic bread and it was big enough we didnt need a main course 😁

Feeling very hungry after a long walk, the Penguin was a great choice for a lunch break, the choices for food were numerous and we decided on fish and chips which tasted delicious. The staff were very sociable and the food was served in quick time. Well worth a visit.
