Went for a couple of flat whites, since NZ is known for them. My partner commented that hers was way too strong so I took it back and asked for more milk. The server's response was "it's SO not strong today." She was busy, and looked very harried. I said "We got two flat whites and mine was fine, but... More

We stopped for a light lunch and thinking it being a roastery the coffee would be good. I t was most disappointing. It had a burn't taste so much so I could not drink it. The food was adequate but we found the staff not the most friendly. I would not be going back.

Bitter burnt tasting coffee, and day old cabinet food served lukewarm. There was an impressive selection of gluten free cakes and slices but after tasting the coffee and savoury offerings we decided not to risk it. The place looked inviting from the road, and the young girl serving was prompt and polite - a shame about the older lady who... More

Went for lunch and we all enjoyed what we ordered - great specials. Amazing coffee. Service really good. Loved the laid back atmosphere. Went back later in the day for take away cakes (they looked SO amazing in the cabinet!) - lemon meringue pie was excellent and best I have ever tasted!

Stopped here for a coffee. Very nice cafe, the food looked good and I intend to return for lunch. The outside area is sheltered with a lovely relaxed vibe.

The cake choice was superb - we couldn't decide which to go for, so ordered several and ate the lot. So full afterwards that our party had to split up as we couldn't move. Had to hitch back into town when we were ready. Totally Roasted - totally worth it.

We spent a loving early afternoon here, after a morning of sea kayaking. I had the corn fritters stacked with bacon and avocado, and my husband had a breakfast stack (?) with spinach, creamy mushrooms, and a poached egg on a homemade hash brown. Both meals were delicious with such tasty flavour and texture combinations.. The portion size was just... More

Generous cakes and serious coffee . The atmosphere is chillaxed: spacious concrete and white with indoor outdoor options. Only open in the mornings as this is a Golden Bay locals hang out. If you are in Pohara and it's open go there! Please note in New Zealand it is custom to order at the counter.

This is out must stop every time we are over the bay. It's become family tradition to enjoy a slice of breakfast pizza before heading home.

This place looks fantastic! Wow a cafe and roastery with a landscaped eating area right in front of the sea - what more could any coffee lover ask for... We came here to enjoy some bites to eat and some much needed coffee after a long trip to our Bach. After reading similar reviews to this one about poor service... More
