12:55 hungry as hell ... after driving for a few hours looking for something decent to eat, all our patience was over. We made a stop in Masseret. We didn't knew what to expect.... let the photo's speak for them. From start to finish the...restaurant is worth a visit. Friendly staff and a nice place to sit and have lunch or diner ! Enjoyed a terrific Sunday lunch at Hotel de la Tour. Traditional French fare served in a pleasant space. The service was excellent, attentive but not intrusive, and the food was of a high standard and wine list was very good. This is not a cheap...option, but you do get what you pay for. Highly recommended.More

We regularly visit this area, and were looking for a cheap menu de jour. However when we arrived we were shown into the 'posh' restaurant. However everything about this place was superb, from the ambiance through to the food. The bill for four of us...including wine was 113 euro. Not the cheap lunch we were looking for, but worth every penny. We will certainly go there again.More

Went here for lunch with some friends following a recommendation and were not disappointed. We had the menu of the day, 3 courses with wine and coffee. Food was of a very high standard, and service good too. For us the menu of the day...was excellent value, there is also a full restaurant menu for those wanting more choice. We would definately return.More

Having spent a holiday in Spain, driving leisurely from the Dordogne back to the UK, my wife and I stopped for lunch at Hotel de la Tour in Masseret, a tranquil village set high up on a hill just a couple of kilometres off the...A.20 Motorway. We sat outside in the shade with views of the Tour and enjoyed a very nice meal in peaceful surroundings. The service was attentive and the "grand" sea food salad was excellent. The quality of the fresh smoked salmon, shrimps, crab, mussels, clams etc. was first-class and the quantity of the delicious, tasty salad was just too much for us! I have rarely seen such a large sea food salad, even in the US! At €15 it was great value for money and well worth the trouble of leaving the motorway to find this very pleasant place to eat.More

This is a typical menu composed by a lazy chef. Apart from salad, meat and fish, it all seems to come from a tin or the freezer. Bought at metro or Aldi? Sorry, you cannot fool me with some stripes of reduced balsamic vinegar or...a line of chocolate. They are not even able to serve a ‘Affligem’ beer with nice foam on top. No thanks.More

We stayed here for one night on our way to the airport. The room was quite basic but adequate. The staff were really friendly and encouraged my school girl French. We ate in the restaurant and were very pleasantly surprised by the standard of the...food. It was reasonably priced and the service was excellent.More

This place was quite odd but perfectly acceptable if you can get past the fact that it looks a bit like a mediocre spa hotel toilet from the early 90s. That said, the food was excellent and the service very attentive - if, again, a...little odd! All in all, it's a pretty good option for being stuck out in the provincial French boonieMore
