About
We are a small cafe and bike shop in Upper Tantallon, which is in the Head of St Margret’s Bay. It is situated on the St Margrets Bay multi purpose trail which is a big part of the Rum Runners Trail. Just open our back door and there it is. And It’s awesome!! You can park and go for a ride down along the ocean, where there are great VISTAS or bike inland and check out some nice river, marshes and forest. There is a beautiful beaver dam to look at too The Cafe serves great breakfast and lunch meals, muffins, scones, vegan treats and much much much more. Attached to the cafe is a small bike shop where you can rent a bike, get your bike serviced, or buy most anything concerning bicycles. It’s a great place to buy a local gift, something to remember us buy, for your self or someone you care about. Come and visit us, we would love to see you.

We were on the Rails to Trails/Rum Runners path when had bike troubles. Stopped in for food and drink (both excellent, highly recommend the carrot cake) and the guys at the bike shop were amazing in aiding us with our bike problems. Amazing hospitality!

We often come here to grab a coffee and walk on the Rail Trail. I first went inside the building in 1965 when it was the Train Station. My grandmother dropped my grandfather, brother and I off and we took the train to Chester - a fun adventure! When you walk along the Rail Trail now, you will sometimes see apple trees. No doubt the engineer and porters threw their apple cores out of the train windows! We were very happy to come here on December 23 when there was a huge power outage in Mason's Point due to fallen trees on the wires. Having a hot coffee makes it more bearable!

I rented a bike from Bike & Bean in August and it was a great experience. The rental was very affordable, I paid $35 for nearly 4 hours of riding. The manager made sure the bike was set up correctly for my height. The St. Margaret's Bay Rails to Trails are the best trails in the province, in my opinion. Biking alongside the ocean on immaculately maintained trails, it's a privilege to be able to rent a bike and visit these trails so close to the city.

This place has all the makings of a good spot for coffee or lunch. Sadly, it doesn’t deliver. 1. Because it is very busy, confined and there are no soft furnishings, it is very noisy. 2. The toilet is very dirty. 3. The coffee is dreadful. I had a cappuccino and it was virtually all frothy milk. No flavour. Come on guys, you have a gold mine there. Make some effort.

The worst turkey club ever. One mm thick slice of processed turkey, one tomato and half a piece of raw bacon. Totally uncooked! When we complained they said, sorry, because they were busy. (Not the Case) Have eaten there many times with no problems but today was awful.

Recently came here for a visit. Perfectly located right off the main road, as well right on the old railroad trail…. Staff members were very helpful with the menu and appreciated our business. Coffee was great as well as our blueberry skones. Highly recommended!

A quaint coffee shop alongside the rails to trails. Wonderful coffee choices and baked goods. A great spot to meet friends. I also think a solo visit with my laptop will be in order. What a great spot to work and enjoy a great cup of coffee

Located in the old train station. Bike trail behind the station (old railway line). Easy ride, mostly flat. Terrific sandwiches, wraps and coffee and home made muffins. Attached is a Bike Shop selling bikes and related items. Seating inside and out on the old platform. Art on walls by local artists for sale.

Stopped by for a quick coffee and sweet treat. Really flavorful raspberry scone and good coffee too! We rented a bicycle and did a 34K ride, very nice trail for an easy ride.

Good coffee and atmosphere, couple of vegan options. Worth a stop in. Also hire and repair bikes and sell quirky T shirts.

Great cafe along the bike trail. Have stopped for a quick lunch numerous times, the paninis are delicious, lots of cold beverages (beer!). Service is fast and friendly. Look forward to many more visits.

We've been to the Bike & Bean before and enjoyed it, but our lunch today wasn't great. I had the carrot/ginger/green apple soup, and honestly it had zero taste, it was as if someone who'd never made soup before had given it a try. My husband found his adult grilled cheese to be small and not especially tasty. The chocolate chip/banana muffin I had was great, but sadly I had asked for raisin bran/blueberry. But the coffee is good, and the trail, especially down near Queensland is beautiful.

We stopped by for a coffee, tea and muffin to curb an afternoon hunger. As my title indicates it is quirky and a fun place to go. They had many people drop in for a coffee or tea to go and head out in the walking trails. If your into biking you can rent a bike. I liked sitting there it was great.
