Me and my partner have been here on numerous occasions, we have sampled several different dishes and have had some amazing food at a good price. Lovely place in a nice setting, fairly consistent. Worth a visit if you haven't so already.

Again the food was excellent and well presented the staff were friendly and helpful.it was quit busy this Saturday lunch time but the attention by staff was excellent. We booked again for a evening dinner in December. And will probably call in for lunch when we stay in one of the estate cottages for a few days in November.

We were gifted an afternoon tea at the dark horse as a birthday present so almost felt obliged to give a five star rating but on reflection give a four. The place definitely has character and the fact it's out of the way down a track adds to that. The service was fine and the afternoon tea was nice and... More

I have been to the Dark Horse several times, mostly for lunch but occasionally for dinner. I have normally had an excellent experience here, and wanted to return. My husband and I visited for dinner to celebrate an important occasion for us. It did not need to be mentioned to staff as we just wanted a normal meal. I do... More

My uncle and aunt took a party of 12 here for an evening meal to celebrate their wedding anniversary. It is tucked out of the way and we went "in convoy" but once there it was well worth the trip. The staff were attentive and we did not feel rushed (despite being the last to leave) it is a fairly... More

We were out for a Sunday drive and dog walking in the forest near Thetford. Heading down into Suffolk we were ready for lunch an saw a road sign for the Dark horse though we would go and see if they had table as it was a Sunday. Several tables were reserved but we arrived just after 12 midday and... More

This is a great place to eat or just visit for a drink. The staff are friendly and the food is good. I have eaten here on numerous occasions and even had a christmas dinner with a few friends and never had one complaint about the place. I still have yet to sample the cream teas on offer but have... An old stable with 3 draft beers not much choice, restaurant was quite with two other dinners. Food quality was very poor, over cooked meat, veg was old and not prepared and over cooked. Hygiene was a concern due to the number of people entering the kitchen A horse would of eaten better in this old stable will not return.
